June 4, 200620 yr HiNow in summer is it advisable to remove one of the sides of the PC cabinet for better cooling? I have one fan in front blowing in and one at the back blowing out. Stelios Stelios Christofides
June 4, 200620 yr It depends on the case and the component layout. Some systems cool better in a hot room with the case off and some cool better with the case on. The temperature of the chips is primarily determined by the airflow over them. Some cases are designed to provide maximum airflow with the case sides installed (usually the more expensive cases with multiple fans). Some cases will actually let the chips run cooler in a hot room with the sides removed as they are airflow-restricted to begin with (usually the less-expensive cases with minimal fans). The only way to know for sure on your system is to measure the temperatures both ways. Then just use whatever method results in the lower temps.Doug Intel 10700K @ 5.1Ghz, Asus Hero Maximus motherboard, Noctua NH-U12A cooler, Corsair Vengeance Pro 32GB 3200 MHz RAM, RTX 2060 Super GPU, Cooler Master HAF 932 Tower, Thermaltake 1000W Toughpower PSU, Windows 10 Professional 64-Bit, 100TB of disk storage.
