FS9 conflict...

Featured Replies

Hi,I just formatted my pc and installed everything again, like the drivers for videocards (latest of Nvidia), essential programs, FS9 and also for the first time the latest drivers for my BIOS. Now, as I read in a post here, I've configurated my BIOS, and what I've done is set the graphics aperture size to 265Mb instead of 64Mb as it's on default...Normally that woudn't cause any problem since my RAM memory is 1024Mb DDR.Now, after installing the FS9 as normal (complete install) and the latest FSUIPC, when I try to fly with an airplane (doesn't matter which one, this occured first with the PMDG 738, but afterwards also with a cessna of FS itself) the flightsim suddenly stops, the mouse doesn't move any more, the sounds stopt...and this just for some seconds, after say 20 seconds you can hear the sound again, the mouse moves over the screen, but the airplane still stops flying. And then after some seconds again the sound stops...nothing else works, not the Esc button, not the ALT button to go to the menu, even the alt+ctrl+del doesn't work!So what could this be? Could this be due to the 256mb I've set in my BIOS? I can test it, though it doesn't occurs every time, sometimes it's from the beginning when you start your flight, or it's after the landing...just suddenly a big conflict and I don't know why! Please some help...You can see my specs in my signature.GreetzAlex

Hello,All I can say is that I reduced the graphics aperture size to 64Mb and I NEVER had any problem.Of course we do not have the same system.

Now I'm gonna get crazy!!!It's not only with FS9 I get this problme, now my windows starts to block too!!!I was making a Word document (only msn was on) when suddenly the same happened like in fs, but then in Word. The pc crashed, I clicked everywhere but nothing worked, I pressed alt+ctrl+del, but nothing happens...and it kept like that for about a half a minute, then suddenly my screen changed to black and went into stanby-mode...you know, if you shut down the computer, but not your screen, it remains in standby mode. But my computer is still WORKING! The only thing I can do is push reset! And then everything starts up again, normal, without an error message....nothing! What is this?I have updated my BIOS to the latest version (of ASUS P4S800), then I formated my pc, reinstalled windows and FS...then the problem occured in FS, so I was trying to find out what it could be...next, I took back the original version of my BIOS with the recovery function on the cd of my motherboard...went back to fs, made a flight, this time it was after one hour the problem occured again! Since then I didn't fly anymore, and now it started in Windows too....WHAT TO DO NEXT? I'm really becoming crazy about this unknown error...Thank you!!

Your problem could be a variety of issues - hard to pinpoint. First of all, I would revert the BIOS settings to their original state, then I would reinstall the chipset bus drivers. Then I would completely wipe off the driver off your GPU with DriverCleaner and re-install. Lastly, I would back up fs9.cfg and let FS restore the default settings.Hope this helps,Pat

I would first do what Pat/aerdt says in his last post. It's all speculation...I would hope you just have some chipset driver/driver etc. issue, and not some hardware/heat problem. But one thing about it, if you do what aerdt says, you will for sure have a better idea of what the problem might be.Rhett

Hi Alex; I'd for sure reinstall the chipset drivers as mentioned above, alsoI seem to recall Intel having an application accelerator? or some suchthat might need to be reinstalled as well. Regards Denny
