August 29, 200619 yr Yeah,I mapped my mouse wheel on the X52 to be my trim wheel. So far it works great! Guess it's kinda of obvious and easy to do but it's nice.I just mapped trim up/down to a toggle, then used the Saitek stuff to remap the wheel up/down to the toggle.I'd done this before with the regular mouse wheel but that meant losing it's function to turn knobs etc. Not a nice trade-off. Ok, back to flying. :)
August 29, 200619 yr What do you mean you "mapped the trim up/down to a toggle"? Sounds nice, but I haven't quite figured this out.Thanks. - Aaron
August 29, 200619 yr Author If you install the Saitek SST software, you can do things like map joystick buttons to keyboard keys etc etc. The SST software is not the driver, it's an extra.First, I set (in FS) elevator trim up and down to a toggle button on the joystick part of the X52.Then in the using the profile editor I mapped the mouse wheel up to toggle button up and mouse wheel down to toggle button down. Now I fly manually all over because trim is much easier with the wheel.
