CH Controls and FSX

Featured Replies

I probably should have waited until the bugs got worked out, but all my controls worked really well in the demo so I went ahead and purchased FSX Deluxe(so when the SDK comes out I can work with it). From the get go I noticed uncontrolled turning to the left despite trim adjustments and recalibrations with my CH yoke and pedals. I also note that I have tried to reassign some of the keys in the sim, but they never change even if I delete the assignment completely.I seem to recall a similar problem when FS5 came out, and MS had to develop a patch to fix it. I have not found anyone else in the forums experiencing these particular problems. Oh yes I almost forgot the mixture lever on the yoke is inactive as well. Any ideas?Tom

No ideas :/ I do not have any of the issues you mention. So really, the only point of my post is to point out that the problems are not universal, but rather result from a certain combination of hardware and software.

You may be having a conflict with other devices and you don't say anything about what hardware you have connected so I'll have to makea SWAG...Remove all your game controlling devices and then plug 1 back in and trythe SIM if that works, the install a 2nd device and try again...If the demo worked fine it is unlikly that the production product would have changed things that much.If your key assignments are not sticking you need to examine your profile associated with your login account.. you have have two or a corrupt one...

Some of the models that I fly want to turn left unless I trim them. I figured it was better modeling of pilot weight. :)Bruce

i reckon you should try setting the realism mode to Easy..see what happens.i use Chpro yoke, pedals and throttle, could be that the torque P-factor and gyro settings are causing the slew to the left..as they would in a real airplane.. just a guess steve

I had the same problem. I solved it by plugging in one control at a time -setting it up-then exiting the sim and doing the next one etc.(I have the pedals, yoke, and throttle quad).I also had and still sometimes get a stuck brake-but calibrating with the chmangaer (not windows xp manager) took care of that one.See if either of these helps!http://mywebpages.comcast.net/geofa/pages/rxp-pilot.jpg

WANTED DEAD OR ALIVE-the best Flight Sim!

Hello,I have the same type of problem(s) with my GOFLIGHT throttle. In general, I have begun to use the Controls configuration to remove all of the device joystick commands from all of the devices that are not in use. I recently, in FSX, have removed ALL control commands and am using FSUIPC 4.01 (FSX) to code all of my axis commands. Anyway, my suggestion, like the others here, is to remove all commands from all devices that are not in use (Joystick Commands in the Config).Cheers,Ron Sagel

My saitek EVO wireless, is having similar probs! It goes to sleep and loses wireless contact!Running it with Fs9 config, and basics OK, but HAT switched no longer retaining programed effects.I am not very good at key inputs on a A321 at 140-150Knts 200 feet above the ground on landing!(g)So, you and your stick are not alone.Make you feel any better??(g)

Hi I have a CH Flight Yoke and I have been experiencing the same symptoms as you stated above ie.- a/c keeps swerving to the left (whilst rudder is centred!!)- even though I assign new keys, they keep getting reset. very frustrating.

It sounds as if the rudder axis and the mixture axis are not assigned properly by the default installer. This has been a problem for me in previous versions (FS2002 and FS2004). After installation, I go into the Options menu and check/reassign all of the yoke and pedal axes. I'll bet that's your problem. R-

Thanks everybody for your replies and help. It appears that it is in the torque setting for some reason even if the slider is partially slid to the right the A/C will veer off. I am a student pilot, and while I am aware of P-factor and torque my real 150 doesn't behave like this. I have no idea why when changes are made in the option settings to assign different functions for the yoke that they are reset by the sim once they are saved, exit the sim and reload. Just like all the other MSFS versions there will be a learning curve to FSX, and like all the other MSFSs there will be dedicated people who will come up with the solutions.Tom:-wave
