November 18, 200619 yr Hi Simmers:I just purchased a new computer Duo Core with a GF 7950 video card. The problem I am experiencing like others, is the Instrument panel disappears when I load the Active Sky Weather program or the default real weather program with FSX.It has been mentioned that I may need another driver for my video card. Can someone please advise what driver I should be using for FSX.Tks. for any info.Kenny G.
November 18, 200619 yr I don't know what driver you are running now, but check out nvidia.com and upgrade to the latest driver if you haven't already.Gary 9800X3D | 4090 | 64GB | 2+1TB NVME | 2TB SSD | 2TB HDD | 85/50/43” TVs | Quest 3 | DOF H3 Motion Rig | Buttkicker | T.16000M Flight Kit MSFS @ 4K Ultra DLSS Performance FG 80 FPS | VR VDXR Godlike 80Hz SSW | MSFS VR DLSS Quality, Ultra Preset - Windows 11 Acer Nitro 5 | i5-11400H | RTX 3060 6 GB | 32GB DDR4 | 15.6" FHD IPS 144Hz | 2 x 512 GB SSD | Windows 11

November 19, 200619 yr KennyGI can say that I had the disappearing instrument panel once, when I switched to this Guru3D 93.71 driver, so I feared the worst. Then the next time I ran the sim, I never had the problem again. So anyway my point is, it is probably a display driver-related problem.I did not have the issue with 91.47 drivers + ActiveSky.RhettAMD 3700+ (@2530 mhz), eVGA 7800GT 256 (Guru3D 93.71), ASUS A8N-E, PC Power 510 SLI, 2 GB Corsair XMS 3-3-3-8, WD 250 gig 7200 rpm SATA2, CoolerMaster Praetorian Rhett 7800X3D ♣ 96 GB G.Skill Flare ♣ Gigabyte 4090 ♣ Crucial P5 Plus 2TB

November 20, 200619 yr Well I am not saying you should change versions. All I am saying is, use the version that works for you. If you are having the disappearing panel problem, I would probably change to 93.71 or whatever the latest ones are. If your present drivers are messing up, you would have nothing to lose.RhettAMD 3700+ (@2530 mhz), eVGA 7800GT 256 (Guru3D 93.71), ASUS A8N-E, PC Power 510 SLI, 2 GB Corsair XMS 3-3-3-8, WD 250 gig 7200 rpm SATA2, CoolerMaster Praetorian Rhett 7800X3D ♣ 96 GB G.Skill Flare ♣ Gigabyte 4090 ♣ Crucial P5 Plus 2TB
November 20, 200619 yr I think you'll find the problem is VIsibility related. If the vis in FSX drops below 10 miles, this seems to trigger this effect. Interestingly, I thought it only afected ATI cards, but obviously not!Sounds like a bug for ACES to fix in the first patch.Allcott
