Always reluctant to jump on the new driver bandwaggon...Just wondering if anyone here is running the new catalyst drivers (version 6.11) Right now, Im running ATI Tray Tools with the 6.9's - did any of you have issues moving on to the 6.11's in terms of FPS, newer is not always better so that is why I am asking in advance. This is in relation to FSX btw.Thanks for any input.-danon-

I was just about to ask any of you if you're having AA problems with the new tray tools/drivers/everything else...ROFL.All these drivers and stuff are getting way out of control.In any case, in FS9 I can't get AA back either through the control panel or through the sim itself.:-mad

Im using tray tools version 1.2.6.955heard about problems with the latest.I think I will stick with these 6.9 drivers coupled with the tray tools version im running and stay out of trouble.Maybe revert to the tray tools im running or the last one you had that worked, because on the guru3d forums people were getting a little irrated with hickups with new drivers.sorry cant help more..danon

Hmmm. I have 6.14. Anyway, there's weird colors appearing on the side or bottom of the screen when light bloom is activated.

I maintain 26 (locked) everywhere but large cities, and takeoffs/approaches depending on weather can drop down to around 15-20. I am always going back and forth with settings in game, and config settings such as fiber frame etc.....just hard to track someone down with the same card. I am also running 2 gigs of corsair XMS ram, an AMD 64 3800 oc'd to 2.6 with 2 barracuda SATA drives. If you have the time let me know, perhaps we could share settings and see what we can do to make it run smoother all around.danon --

Will be glad to. Currently working on two performance profiles, one for light aircraft mostly sight seeing with VFR photoscenary, and the other for commercial traffic. Should be done in the next day or so.

Thanks, I will come back tonight and post my config settings...the settings that matter, and also my settings from in-game. Maybe we can work something out.I just landed at ohare with 70 percent World of AI traffic, at night, with real world weather...not too pretty, but do-able (12fps at times).Hope all of this isnt moot in a month or so when the "patch" comes out. Thanks - got your message and its certainly given me some new ideas to try out. I'll send you my "light aircraft" configuration tonight.By the way, I installed the official catalyst 6.12 drivers last night. So far no stability issues like I had with previous levels but early days yet. Subjectively I may have seen just a very slight FPS gain.Simon

Do you manage to get more than 15fps average at a dense airport like ohare with lots of traffic.... Seems I could tweak some more out of it, but maybe not...thanks.danon--

I've become rather distracted by STOP 0x000000EA being reported frequently on boot up. Screen usually goes blank at some point (e.g. at "windows is starting", at "login", at bios screen) and then I have to power off and on. When windows comes back it says the video card screwed up. So I've spent more time on this problem than fsx lately, so I've not progressed my research. Hope this is not bad hardware, but I need to start talking to the supplier come Monday.I can get 15fps at London Heathrow with myTrafficX on 66% commercial aviation. However I find anything under 20 uncomfortable. I usually aim for 25. More later.

I am the same way...I really like this card but know I will have to go the 512 route before too long, especially with the sizing of the ingame textures.Sorry to hear about the boot up prob's, wish I could help out more in some way.I too find anything under 20 no good, but...on approach at least in the heavies, im not really thinking about the fps, and in route it stays pegged at 26 (my lock).Let me know how it goes..danon - -
