January 16, 200719 yr I am sorry to ask what I think has already been asked before, but is it possible to zoom out further back than 0.31 in FS9 using Triplehead? If so, how does one do so?Thanks!JS Jonathan Sacks Dell XPS Gen 4, Pentium IV Northwood extreme 3.8Ghz, 3Ghz RAM, eVGA 7900 GTO, 12 GoFlight modules plus MCP-PRO AP and EFIS, GF pedestal, CH rudder pedals, CH throttle quadrant, 42" LG LED, 24" DELL LCD, Windows XP, FS2004, FSUIPC 3.96 FS Autostart 1.1 (Build 11), FS Navigator 4.6, UT, FE, GE, REX, PMDG, Level-D, PSS, etc.
January 16, 200719 yr I called Matrox tech support about this a week ago and they told me .31 was as far as you could go. Also, I tried adding the same line to the fs9.cfg that the TH2G installer adds to the FSX.cfg but it had no effect.I find that the limited zoom is a real problem with the PMDG 747. Without more zoom the VC is hard to use. And the 2D panel is all stretched. I've tried resizing it, but it doesn't always stick for subsequent flights. So I've mothballed it and am waiting for the FSX version.Robert Robert Chartoff
January 17, 200719 yr Author Actually, I realize now that zoom 0.31 works fine for me and because I have the Flight 1 "VIEW" Utility, I can pull back from the PMDG panel as far as I want inside the cockpit and re-set my PoV. It works beautifully. I can see the entire MCP and the entire forward cockpit panel in one glance now and use it all.You need to get the Flight 1 VIEW Utility from the Flight1 website if you don't already have it. It is free and works amazingly well.JS Jonathan Sacks Dell XPS Gen 4, Pentium IV Northwood extreme 3.8Ghz, 3Ghz RAM, eVGA 7900 GTO, 12 GoFlight modules plus MCP-PRO AP and EFIS, GF pedestal, CH rudder pedals, CH throttle quadrant, 42" LG LED, 24" DELL LCD, Windows XP, FS2004, FSUIPC 3.96 FS Autostart 1.1 (Build 11), FS Navigator 4.6, UT, FE, GE, REX, PMDG, Level-D, PSS, etc.
January 17, 200719 yr JS, I don't have this VIEW Utility and I'll look into it right away. Thanks for the tip.Robert Robert Chartoff
January 18, 200719 yr Author It is great and it makes a BIG diff! Good luck!JS Jonathan Sacks Dell XPS Gen 4, Pentium IV Northwood extreme 3.8Ghz, 3Ghz RAM, eVGA 7900 GTO, 12 GoFlight modules plus MCP-PRO AP and EFIS, GF pedestal, CH rudder pedals, CH throttle quadrant, 42" LG LED, 24" DELL LCD, Windows XP, FS2004, FSUIPC 3.96 FS Autostart 1.1 (Build 11), FS Navigator 4.6, UT, FE, GE, REX, PMDG, Level-D, PSS, etc.
January 18, 200719 yr >>It is great and it makes a BIG diff! Good luck!Does it actually increase the field of view of the world outside the cockpit? If so, that is a very worthwhile gain indeed.--Bryn
January 19, 200719 yr Author No it does not. It cannot because in order to do that the FS9 zoom factor would have to be reduceable below 0.31 which it is not. But, being able to "sit back" farther in the seat and take in more of the VC is a treat and on my system, with 60" of panel width, this is a tremendous advantage and a big treat.JS Jonathan Sacks Dell XPS Gen 4, Pentium IV Northwood extreme 3.8Ghz, 3Ghz RAM, eVGA 7900 GTO, 12 GoFlight modules plus MCP-PRO AP and EFIS, GF pedestal, CH rudder pedals, CH throttle quadrant, 42" LG LED, 24" DELL LCD, Windows XP, FS2004, FSUIPC 3.96 FS Autostart 1.1 (Build 11), FS Navigator 4.6, UT, FE, GE, REX, PMDG, Level-D, PSS, etc.
