February 5, 200719 yr Hi everybody,I ordered a new rig today and noticed when I got home that the power supply quoted was an Enermax 535 watt all in one model. Just wondering whether this would be enough power?ThanksOpjock
February 5, 200719 yr Hi. I'd be interested to hear how it performs. I have the same system on a 600W psu, and the graphics are terrible, jaggered edges on EVERYTHING. Had the card replaced but no difference. 19in. Iiyama Vision Master at 1280x1024. Just in the process of sending it back to try and get it sorted. Hope yours performs better for you.Russell.

If you are only running one HD, one DVD and a sound card then you might be alright. the E6600 draws about 50W at peak, the GeForce card 250-300W under load. So it's tight, but conceivable. As you haven't taken delivery yet, if I were you I would change the power supply to a 650W or greater, which will cater for future needs as well as giving the PSU less strain.Allcott

But if you can exchange it for a bigger one like 650 or a 700Watt try it.But I think you are ok if you say 2 x HD. I was able to run 4 Hard Disks, 1 8800GTX and a sound card, and a floppy and single DVD and 2 Gig of memory and also Overclocked the E6600 to 3.2Ghz with the Enermas 535WattI did upgrade later on with a 650Watt C&C PSU. But my Enermax was just fine. You can also calculate for yourself using the following tool.. how much Watts you would need by answering simple Qshttp://www.extreme.outervision.com/psucalculator.jspMannyPS: I just found this ineteresting artcile.http://www.theinquirer.net/default.aspx?article=36066 Manny Beta tester for SIMStarter
February 5, 200719 yr Thanks for the replies guys which were greatly appreciated. I'll give you the system specs:Core 2 Duo E6600Corsair Twin X DDR2 800 Mhz Ram (4 gig)Asus P5B Deluxe Intel P965 MoboXFX 8800 GTX XXX PCI-E Video CardSeagate 320 Gig Sata-2 16meg Cache HD150gig WD Raptor 10,000 rpm HDDVista Home premiumSound Blaster X-Fi Fatal1tyAnother point I wouldn't mind having clarified is whether the factory overclocked XFX 8800 runs hotter than the normal 8800. I believe it uses more power which I guess would be obvious. In hindsight, maybe I'll exchange it for the "standard" Asus 8800.Thanks againOpjock
February 5, 200719 yr Yes it runs hotter.....how much so? Likely a few degrees C under load and the difference between stock and OC version temps would be less at idle. Core i7 920 @ 4.2Ghz on Water, eVGA Classified x58, 12 GB Corsair Dominator GT @ 2000mhz, Radeon HD 5870 1GB, (4) 30GB OCZ Vertex SSD's in RAID 0, X-Fi Titanium Sound, Galaxy DXX 1kW PSU, Windows Vista x64, Logitech Z-5500 5.1 Speakers
February 5, 200719 yr You would be surprised that the 8800 actually is not all that hot. Its pretty good. With the nividia drivers, and ntune tool that you can download, you can increase the internal fan if you want.BTW.. I checked your card here.http://xfxforce.com/web/viewFeature.jspa?featureId=794315They have OCed it from 575Mhz to 630Mhz. Thats nice.I tried OC it myself..but I finally had to leave it at the default 575Mhz. It was unstable. But if they have done it at the factory...then its probably stable.Manny Manny Beta tester for SIMStarter
