>they seem ok I guess, nothing's worse anyway>>cheers! How funny I was just about to post this same subject... I was actually using the omega drivers, but I decided to give these a whirl. Well I'm glad I did :) All new CCC AND the most important part it no longer takes about 45-60MB RAM! It now takes up about 13-19MB. I've also gained about 5FPS :) I've also flew about 2 hours straight and had no memory issues which is strange because this is the first time I have completed a long flight in fsx without issues :) Wonder if the new CCC has anything to do with it.Oh well, I'm happy with this. Take care everyone :)Tim

The new CCC is very streamlined. One process instead of multiples. No real gain for me, but I'm so cpu limited it's not funny!

One word of caution, X1950XT users be sure to read the release notes first! These drivers are not compatible with X1950XT and XTX cards. Don't know about the pro though

Thanks

In my opinion. No, they are not ok.Today it seems to me, that ati/amd wants you to dl the ccc together with the display driver to get it working.Previous, you could dl a display driver and just keep on going with your old cp. (The one with no fancy outlook and no resource hug). The last display driver working without new catalyst cp, is 6.12/14.I hope ati/amd is reading threads in avsim too.

Hi,I am sure they spend hours here, not!!You do know you can do a custom install and just install the drivers right? Then you can use Tray Tools or a similar program.Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development Team Active Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/AirSource Member: http://www.air-source.us/FSEconomy Member:http://www.fseconomy.com/

Then you can use Tray Tools or a similar program.ATI Tray Tools is the best option, but for those who don't want to use it the older style ATI Control Panel is available at Guru3D.

Current release version of Tray Tools does not support the new 7.2 drivers. Settings do not hold!!Another good reason to wait for Omega to work his magic (his tweaked Cat's include ATI Tray Tools).

Waal, I dunno. . . . I have the XTX and the 7.2 driver along with ccc, running with FS9 and 10. I thought I'd give the Omega drivers a look-see a couple of weeks back, having had success with them in the past; so I did. For some reason it resulted in me not being able to control the mip blurries that used to occur in FS9. In the middle distance there was an awful lot of shimmering which I just couldn't get rid of. I played with it for an hour or so, but eventually got p**** off and went back to the ATI 7.2 driver. I have no problems with it, and have been using it since it was released.

Hi there.I've tried the full catalyst 7.1, no good. Tried omega for 7.1 with TT, same result. No fast read/write, every win slowly update from top to button. Fs9 runs at 5-10 fps, normally i run 35-75 all high settings. These are reason enough that i went back to 6.12/14 and my 2 ear old CP. It can do the job.And yes, i think ati/amd spend some time here, a few hours more will not be bad.Cheers

Hi All,Settings hold for me, V1.2.6.955.
