CPU Utilization On Hi-End PCs (FSX) ???

Featured Replies

All,Took it one step further as regards single vs. dual-core CPU usage. I disabled core 1 in BIOS on the X6800, ran FS9, and yep, it's 100%. Who knew ('cept y'all here) . Thanks for the info.Regards,jb[a href=http://exmixer.com/]Windows utility links/FS 2004[/a]

It depends how you set up your computer and how well you balance the IO and CPU with fs9.cfg tweaks. It can and will use multipleCPU since it is threaded application; please see the following threadhttp://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho...&topic_id=24969Also : you will not get Ncpu * 100% due to concurrency problems with multi-core and also IO waits. With single core (and not hyperthreaded)you will suffer particularly with IO waits to memory and memory locking. Please also note the memory usage analysis showing that my computer (1g ram) never pages, but must of course read new terrain from disk when required.RegardsTom

res to 7cm for default scenery does nothing...default res is 1m at best so it shouldn't matter as long as your at or above 1mTry fiber frame @ less than .33 I run .27 (yeah a little lower but no stutters)
