May 30, 200719 yr Hope to get some suggestions for a problem with an Asus P5n-E SLI motherboard and the onboard Nvidia Network Controller.I have a cable connection through Cox Cable. The problem is if I reboot the computer I cannot get on the internet. The network icon in the tray will say unidentfied network limited connectivity, and I cannot get on the network which is a cable connection through Cox Cable. If I power down the computer completely, cold start, stay down a few minutes then I can usually get back on after three or more shutdowns. Another thing sometimes the Icon will say Network 2 if I mouse over it and I have a good connection. Other times I will mouse over and it will say just Network, and that gives me a good connection. Once I get a good connection it stays good unless I have to power down. When I get unidentified network I get the yellow exclamation point, and again three or more cold boots before i get a good connection.Does anyone else have experience with this problem, I suspect it is a faulty onboard network controller, another reason to not have on board stuff with your motherboard!! BUT there you have it, I wanted this computer :-) What thinks all of You?ThanksDonald E. Donovanwb5okj Donald E. Donovan Flying is the 2nd greatest thrill known to man The 1st is landing.
May 30, 200719 yr When it isn't working, what do you see when you do an ipconfig /all and arp -a ? Have you tried powering down and restarting the modem? Ipconfig /release and then ipconfig /renew ?scott s..
