October 25, 200718 yr Wow! 1100 watt power supply? I wonder at what point you will need a 20 amp circuit?Sounds like a really nice system. Let us know how it runs FSX.Dale Dale
October 25, 200718 yr Author >Cool system.>>Are you planning to Overclock? >>MannyYes I am having it overclocked to the max stable point. Dopke (Clay)>Major, USAF (retired)>"Drac"The total price for this unit is $3569.00 from Vigor Gaming. I know nothing about building a PC so that is why I went this direction. I already have a Samsung 226bw LCD so that it why I only went with the smaller LCD for the package. October 26, 200718 yr Well..IF you can get it past 3.6Mhz then you have a system that cannot get any better as of this point in time. FSX would still test your patience but still.. FSX is gorgeous and you could have a great time.Good show!Manny Manny Beta tester for SIMStarter
October 26, 200718 yr Well, for that price you could've gotten a Mac Pro with a two quad-core CPUs that will easily blow away this system, if paired with a 8800GTX and with a lot lower power consumption.Plus you could've run the best of both worlds - MacOS and Vista/XP without any major modding or cooling/power issues.I speak from my own experience and compared my AMD 4800+ X2 with a Mac mini 1.83 Core 2 Duo and the poor AMD does not stand a chance, even with a difference of nearly .4 Ghz in clock speed. Now take that times two and add four more cores in total. Heaven!Good luck with the next electric bill ;)Just my 2c.Pat
October 26, 200718 yr This system building chatter we knock around can really be worth some big bucks. We're glad to help. But in the end, ya gotta buy us pizza.
