Two Questions For New FSX System

Featured Replies

New FSX system is completed and running. A couple questions:I have 4GB of DDR2-1066 memory installed. Will more memory via Ready Boost help FSX?Is there a freeware program available to test the system (cpu, memory, HDs, etc) and provide a report on the operational status of components, ie are they all working properly? If no freeware, payware.Regards,Richard

Sweet, first off, what system do you have?2) I assume you're running Vista x64 with 4GB mem?3) I'm not sure about ready boost, but ready boost can take up to 4GB flash drive4) test programs, PCMark, or 3DMark, http://www.futuremark.com/download/SuperPi, see how fast your PC can calc XX digits of Pihttp://www.overclock.net/downloads/138140-...-mod-1-5-a.htmlMemStatus/Orthos - RAM/CPU stability checkerhttp://nuclearplayground.com/NuclearPlayground/http://sp2004.fre3.com/beta/beta2.htm

Didn't someone here test ReadyBoost with FSX and noticed no difference? You may want to search this here hardware forum and see but I think that was what one user reported.RhettAMD 3700+ (@2585 mhz), eVGA 7800GT 256 (Guru3D 93.71), ASUS A8N-E, PC Power 510 SLI, 2gb Corsair XMS 3-3-3-8 (1T), WD 150 gig 10000rpm Raptor, WD 250gig 7200rpm SATA2, Seagate 120gb 5400 rpm external HD, CoolerMaster Praetorian
