February 4, 200818 yr I have a 325 Mb 8800 GTS card.. if I add another one for SLI would that equate to having 640 MB of video memory.. since each card is only drawing 1/2 the screen? Can I run 2 monitors in SLI mode ?
February 5, 200818 yr Hi,I don't know a lot about SLI but from what I have read about it is that you cannot use 2 monitors in SLI mode. A good place to find out about SLI is www.slizone.com. A lot of SLI info there.Jim
February 5, 200818 yr Author Thanks for the info... I was most concerned if the memory would be doubled.. I'll take a look.
February 6, 200818 yr No, the memory will not be doubled. Each card must store every texture on its own memory, needs a frame buffer on its own memory, etc... There is no way for a GPU to access the memory on the other card.
February 7, 200818 yr If you can run one monitor you can always run three.See the Matrox TripleHead2Go: http://www.matrox.com/graphics/en/gxm/prod...igital/home.phpCheers,jahman.
February 7, 200818 yr No, you cannot run two monitors in SLI. The dodge is to buy and fit another card for the second monitor. You could of course 'disable' it to run the second monitor. Dave Taylor
February 7, 200818 yr Note that generally speaking, and from my own experience, FSX runs slower in SLI than it does on a single card. You would likely more benefit from running two monitors in non-sli mode rather than 1 monitor in sli mode.Cheers,Etienne
