I am working with a friend via e-mail in an attempt to discover why his default Extra 300 panel does not display digits in those instruments where it should. He has both FS2002 and FS2004 installed and the panel displays incorrectly on both.We have gone through all of the software possibilities to no avail so I am hoping perhaps one of you hardware guru's can tell me if there is possibly a hardware issue which would cause the gauges to display dashed lines (see attached picture) rather than the expected digits. It works perfectly on my system and on the systems of others I have contacted. Thanks in advance for any thoughts on the matter.

But then if there are any add-ons, they might have to be re-installed too.Open the aircraft 'panel.cfg' file and see what the names of the gauge files are. Find them to make sure they exist. Could even copy them to the aircraft panel directory to see if it makes a difference.Since the problem exists in two sims then maybe there is an add-on causing the problem.

We have tried all that - even had him install a copy of my extra gauges as I know they work properly.Nothing seems to work - even tried setting up an electrical failure and the gauges in question show blank - not the dashes seen in the picture. No matter what I do on my system, I have not been able to duplicate what he is seeing. Thanks for the ideas though.

It sounds like your friend may be missing a font that the gauges depend on. You might try copying your font folder and see if that fixes it.Regards,Jeff
