May 23, 200818 yr Has anyone been able to run FSX SP2 (withuot acceleration) on the nvidia 8800gt card. Just upgraded from a 7950gt which didn't run it so thought I'd get a heads up before install...cheersDennis
May 23, 200818 yr I guess what I meant was without the ctd's common with some nvidia cards. It sounds like you dont recommend it.Dennis
May 23, 200818 yr the CTD's and menu freezes are due to lame drivers from nvidia.I fly mostly in windowed mode so I don't have that many CTD's. | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
May 23, 200818 yr Both Nvidia and Aces point the finger at each other. It comes down to this.If FSX has problems,CTDs or bad performance, its a crap game and/or Nvidia suc**!If you are one of the blessed and have no problems, then its YOUR ignorance and you do not know how to set up a machine.FSX to me is like the weather. I have good and bad days. The more I tweak it the worse it gets. The 8800GT is a incredible card but with FSX, its like playing the lottery. Just hope the sim gods smile apon you.
May 23, 200818 yr I upgraded to the 8800gt with 512 mgs of ram and the latest drivers. no probs, tho i do get the occasional black box artifact. it quickly goes away when i change views.sherm
