3 gig switch on Windows media Center 2005?

Is it possible to apply the 3 gig switch to the boot.ini of a system running Microsoft Media Center 2005? I read that it is basically XP Pro with media ability. I also read that you can not apply the 3 gig switch to the WMCE. Thanks in advance.
