September 29, 200817 yr Finally, after months of trying to get FSX to re-load, I came across this link http://www.smartcomputing.com/editorial/ar...s09%2F55s09.aspwhich tells how to load certain Microsoft/ non Microsoft programs when you constantly get the Error 1335 code. After loading the entire two DVD disk files to the hard drive in the computer, I was able to re-install FSX. I also had to run the Windows Install Cleanup program too to get rid of the partial program files that the Windows XP Pro uninstall would not remove.I had been gone from FSX for so long I forgot how to switch between the 2D and 3D panels and it took me the better part of the night to figure that out all over again. Hopefully all of this work will be worth the effort. Thanks to all that gave me suggestions and advice on how to get the FSX to reload.Terry
September 29, 200817 yr Thanks for the feedback, Terry!Might be very useful if somebody else is struck by this error.Ulf B
September 30, 200817 yr That's how I originally installed FSX - it wouldn't work off my DVD's, so I dumped them to my HDD, and voilla! | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
October 1, 200817 yr Author I am glad to hear someone else has had a similar problem. What is strange is that initially, it would load from the DVD. Terry
October 1, 200817 yr >I am glad to hear someone else has had a similar problem.>What is strange is that initially, it would load from the DVD.>>>TerryThe DVD issues stem back to several possible problems... the most common is the presence of a TSR from other software such as Nero, EZ CD Creator, even software you would not expect to have influence such as DVD players like WinDVD.. these can all cause DVD install errors with FSX and its is not centered on one specific software package or another.. it has to do with the BIOS chipset regiser and the software installed so the combinations of different possibilites is quite high.I have seen older DVD drives cause this too or old and out of date firmware.. works and doesn't.. hit and missMost common is installed software issues and then there are the combined issues of resetting the system for install which plagued FSX when it was first released. Many do not know you can not COPY/PASTE the command and it must be correctly hand typed into the COMMAND PROMPT to reset things correctly.Install issues can be a bugger with FSX
