October 4, 200817 yr My computer recently lost the fs9.exe file and it is impossible to access all my PMDG planes now. I have DISC 4 but when I double click on the icon nothing happens. I looked in explorer and could not locate where the fs9.exe went. My problem is two-fold, as I lost my other 3 discs for FS2004.Is there any way to undo this mess or should I just break down and order a new copy of FS2004? jack
October 4, 200817 yr I just tried the Windows 'Search' method and came up with the following for an input of : FS9.exe....FS9.exe-OA29966A.pf C:WindowsPrefetchFS9.exe-3AOEDB1E.pf C:WindowsPrefetchAnybody know what this is all about?Regards, jack
October 4, 200817 yr Does that mean that there isn't a copy of the exe. in your main FS9 folder? If not, there should be a 2002 exe. Try clicking on that.Bob Bob i5, 16 GB ram, GTX 960, FS on SSD, Windows 10 64 bit, home built works anyway.
October 5, 200817 yr Bob,I tried clicking on the FS2002 and got nothing. This is the strangest thing I have ever seen. I guess I've got to bite the bullet and purchase another copy of FS2004... It's a shame because all my PMDG aircraft etc. are in the folders but without the fs9.exe file, I cannot run any of them. Thanks for the suggestion though..Regards,jack
October 5, 200817 yr Hi,Do you have an antivirus program running? Try to look in the rootfolder of FS9 and search for any file starting with FS9.xxxx something. It can be that the file was renamed for some reason. And that the file format has changed. In that case, rename the FS9.xxx to .exe, and see if that solves the problem. October 5, 200817 yr Staffan is correct. Look to see if the airplane icon is still there, only named someting different.Bob Bob i5, 16 GB ram, GTX 960, FS on SSD, Windows 10 64 bit, home built works anyway.
