FS Time keeper

Featured Replies

Hey guys, anyone here tried FS Time Keeper by T. Molitor, the author of the great AITM utility?? I haven't installed it yet, but looks very promising in the features, especially for me since I fly for a VA and it might help me keep track of my flight hours better. Don't like installing new programs and wanted to see if there are any conflicts from anyone, especially with active sky.I am surprised there is no info on it here at AVSIM, the link is here http://www.molitor-home.de/FS/Regards, Michael

Hi Michael,I guess you mean FS Flight Keeper. I was using it yesterday and it works well with Active Sky running. The only difficulty I found was that it won't automatically pick up your position if you start at an airport with no parking places but you can enter the airport manually.A couple more tests and I will be ready to register.Hope that helps.David Wickes

Also check out FS Flight Tracker. It's a little easier to use and some VA's have already automated pilot reporting with it. Here's the link: www.fsflighttracker.com.

Michael,I have FSFlightKeeper by Thomas Molitor and am very pleased with it.I also have FS FlightTracker that is refered to in the post on this thread by kdlovell (who is the author of FS FlightTracker and perhaps therefore not the unbiased commentator his anonymous post maybe implies). After having used both I have a definite preference for FSFlightKeeper. It is just as easy to use as Flight Tracker and is capable of recording much more information. But the real clincher for me is that FlightTracker, when you are at the point of touch down causes a pause or stutter as it records the landing information and for me spoils my landing. Thomas has found a way with FSFlightKeeper to record the landing details without any interuption to the flight smoothness.Hope this helps.Best wishesKeith Cocker

Well that explains Thomas's remark! LOL Thanks Keith, that is all the info I needed. went ahead and installed and it is a great program! I haven't even begun to try all it's features, but so far it fills the need I had for detailed pireps that I dislike doing (or don't have the time to). If I can talk the other pilots into it (especially the CEO) it will add a new dimension to our reports.Epsecially like the scoring of your flight performance, very coolThanks Thomas (for AITM as well!)Regards, Michael

Thanks. It is always great to see that people like the stuff you code for over half a year. ;)RegardsThomas

Thomas,Just out of curiousity, Is the application mostly aimed at people who are member of a VA and use FS Flight Keeper? Or is it also beneficial for people who are not member of a VA with Flight Keeper? Because I read that you can buy more than one license (key). Thanks in advance!>Thanks. Well I guess you have to check out yourself. I don't want to make any advertisement in this forum.Hope you understand thatThomas

Fully understandable! Thanks though for your input.>Well I guess you have to check out yourself. I don't want to >make any advertisement in this forum. >>Hope you understand that >>Thomas

I have the same annoying problem with FS Flight Tracker. Stutters at landing. I think an Update is needed since this problem greatly detracts from an otherwise excellent program.I'm also going to check out FS Flight Keeper.Happy Jet Trails To Youflyking

Please let me know if I missed something with this program. Once you set up your flight in FS2K2, the plane, the flightplan, the fuel, do you still have to input all of those values, again, into FS Flight Keeper when you run it, especially all of those fuel values, the origin and destination, etc?

Edam,No you don't have to enter the values again. FS Flightkeeper will recognise your origin airport (provided the airport has at least one parking place and runway) and how much fuel you have on board. It will also load FS2002 flight plans.Best thing I can suggest is that you either download and read the manual or, beter yet try the program and see if it suits you.Hope that helps.David Wickes

>FS >Flightkeeper will recognise your origin airport (provided >the airport has at least one parking place and runway) and >how much fuel you have on board. It will also load FS2002 >flight plans. Yes, I was parked, the runway was determined, and the fuel was set. It loaded the flightplans, but wanted a lot more information as stated above. >Best thing I can suggest is that you either download and >read the manual or, beter yet try the program and see if it >suits you. I read the quickstart and followed it to a tee. Like I said, there may be something that I missed, so I will try it again.
