October 21, 200817 yr The extent of my knowledge is limited, as recent events have shown, but there is no doubt that 2 GPUs in SLI or Crossfire will do nothing for FSX. They may be great for games but for the sim only one GTX280 is the way to go, assuming you have high quality CPU/HDD/RAM/PSU to back it up.Cheers,Noel. 11th Gen i9-11900K @ 3.5GHz | nVidia GeForce RTX 3080 | Corsair 64 GB RAM | Samsung 970 EVO Plus 2TB | Asus 27" RoG G-Sync Track IR5 | Thrustmaster Warthog | CH Products Pedals
October 23, 200817 yr The best resolution for frame rate in FS is as low a resolution as you can get. :)But that is not what you want to do. Running the sim at 1024x768, and you'll be missing out on so much...but your frames will be good, at least they were for me.The only thing I can say is that you need to run a various resolutions and see which one impacts frames the most.RhettFS box: E8500 (@ 3.80 ghz), AC Freezer 7 Pro, ASUS P5E3 Premium, BFG 8800GTX 756 (nVidia 169 WHQL), 4gb DDR3 1600 Patriot Cas7 7-7-7-20 (2T), PC Power 750, WD 150gb 10000rpm Raptor, Seagate 500gb, Silverstone TJ09 case, Vista Ultimate 64ASX Client: AMD 3700+ (@ 2.6 ghz), 7800GT Rhett 7800X3D ♣ 96 GB G.Skill Flare ♣ Gigabyte 4090 ♣ Crucial P5 Plus 2TB
October 23, 200817 yr FWIW, I've tried dropping from 1920 to 1680 on my 24" and the only difference I saw was in quality - not bad, but really no change in FPS.Regards, Kendall#1: E8500 @ 3.95 - HyperTX2 Gigabyte P35-DS3L 4GB Ballistix Tracers PC6400 EVGA 8800GT - XG's 174.74 Seagate 250GB 7200.11 CH Yoke/Pedals/Saitek Throttle Dual Monitor: Dell 2405/1905 #2: Dell 8400 3.2 H.T. 3GB PC4200 - X800XT Diamond Xtreme/Logitech X-530's Regards, Kendall 7800X3D/G.B.
