Need Help Here
Did you even try lowering the Glass cockpit refresh setting as I suggested? If you watch your own video every time you have sound issues your CPU is getting hammered and your CoherentGT thread has huge spikes and could very likely be the cause of everything. Sound issues are often manifested by a struggling CPU. Lowering settings is just a bandaid and there have been major issues documented with Coherent in 2024. Coherent has a MASSIVE performance impact on FS24 Hope it helps.

Maddogx sound files?
Sidney, shouldn't you be working on some scenery project instead of flying - you were always so very good at it. Unfortunately, altering sounds in the new sims is extremely convoluted compared to the older sims. Working with encrypted sound files (as I'm sure they are on the MD) makes it an even more daunting challenge. In my experiences, you'll have to get proficient in Wwise and create a whole new sound package for the plane as it is very difficult to "piggy back" any changes you want to make onto the existing files. In other words, it's usually an "all or nothing" proposition if you want to retain most of the elements from the existing sound package. Sounds SDK

FS2024 Object Limit?
The jury is still out if there ever was (is) a hard-coded simobject limit. Asobo claims it was a simconnect issue with too many requests while injecting the objects, despite many developers spawning their simobjects through a bgl file. With the new, overly aggressive LOD system, rendering only half of an object 100ft away from you. I wonder if it really matters anymore.............

How does MSFS access the community folder?
I'm curious if anyone knows how MSFS uses the community folder? You can see for yourself using the free ProcessMon app. Start it up before starting the FS20/24 and you'll see what the sim is doing in the background, including the community folder. Lots of indexing and the larger the community folder, the longer it takes to load - especially with AI aircraft and boats. I use Addon Linker to only load what I need for the flight to keep boot times as low as possible.

Difference Between Performance Products
Good question, Rob. Wish I had the answer, too. I have been using Lossless scaling as a frame generator because, unlike you and your 4090, I can't use Nvidia's native FG as I'm still rolling with my 1080ti @60hz. It's made a world of difference in smoothness as I can easily obtain 30FPS with my cpu. The AutoFps app and Dynamic LOD in FS24 are essentially the same - modifying settings on the fly for a better FPS. Only use 1 and I have read that the freeware app is producing better results than the offering from Asobo (go figure ) So the way I understand, the Frame generators are more for the GPU where the AutoFPs is for aimed at the cpu side of things. Maybe the good Captain @Cpt_Piett will stop by and help explain. He's very knowledgeable about such voodoo'ery.

Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 1.2.11.0 Hotfix Released
So Asobo is at fault for your personal attack on a forum? C'mon man, the "adults" behind the keyboard are the sole reason for any "fracture" in the community. (And I'm not trying to single you out for 1 comment) If BOTH sides resisted the overwhelming compulsion to post a response to every perceived "slight" and repeatedly attempt to overcome other forum members opinions that are incongruent to their own, maybe we could return to some semblance of a "discussion".

Live Weather / Historic Weather always connected to time set
Unfortunately, voting is akin to wishing for the next billion dollar lottery ticket - at least you can say that you played the game. Another dreadful design decision from Asobo needing to be corrected by a 3rd party. Thank you Active Sky.

FS2020 Daily Crashes Continuing...
Sounds like an addon problem to me. Do you crash with a clean community folder - vanilla sim?

Dallas Low Quality Scenery Tiles even worse in 2024!
When a large portion of your user base uses a hack of injecting aerial maps (Google maps mod) to improve the most "revolutionary" aspect of your product, one would hope that would be a clear signal to the developers to listen to the feedback from their customers and make some meaningful changes. At the very least, it must be extremely embarrassing.

Altitude setting
Hi, welcome to Avsim. Surprised no one chimed in to try and help, but I guess debating (arguing) the merits of 1 sim over others takes precedents these days. When you set the altitude and rate of climb (VS or FLC) have you then activated the AP (auto pilot)? If so, are you activating the AP via the MCP in the virtual cockpit or with keyboard or or control binding? What plane we using? What's the struggle you are experiencing? More info always helps to help.

Porting Fs2020 aircraft mods to FS2024
It seems to be getting much more difficult and complex for 3rd parties to even make simple mods these days. Not sure if you have seen these posts over at dev forum - hopefully they help. https://devsupport.flightsimulator.com/t/aircraft-configuration-variant-vs-livery/11574 https://devsupport.flightsimulator.com/t/mfs20-aircraft-variants-dont-show-up-as-intended/11623 https://devsupport.flightsimulator.com/t/msfs-2020-airplanes-livery-selection-configuration-bug/10990 https://devsupport.flightsimulator.com/t/no-way-to-make-external-liveries-work-in-fs24-monolithic-aircraft/11501

Are default aircraft in FS2024 editable?
Totally agree and I'm hoping the inclusion of Andrey (An.Petrovich) Solomykin to the team will help get this corrected - or at least make it easier for 3rd parties to correct. Personally, I think they'll make the default assets available for modding. Don't think they really want to add to the "intestinal distress" of the community any further at this point (lol), but my guess is their hands will be tied legally on removing encryption for the assets of 3rd party partners (unless they grant approval, of course). IMHO, the day Microsoft removes the ability for independent 3rd parties to improve the sim is the day the sim begins a slow death.

I'm not switching to FS2024 until the following happens...
Actually that's what they are aiming for. No on can accuse Team Asobo of not working hard to get things corrected. The lead Dev is working the forums - on a Saturday, no less, after what must be a grueling few weeks for them. Just posted in the dev forum by Eric Pellissier -project lead for Asobo: "Yes, “My Library” will allow to download an aircraft (or any other package) locally to avoid having to stream it. I am not 100% sure on the ETA but I think it should be before Christmas. Of course we initially planned to have this option available for launch but didn’t manage to achieve it - apologies for the inconvenience. Additionally He says: "I’ll have to check with the team in charge (obviously I can’t right now since it’s Saturday) but I believe My Library will allow you to activate/deactivate packages - so in case you have two add-ons covering the same airport, it will allow you to choose the one you want to use." Will it be an optional for our customers to download an aircraft locally?

Are default aircraft in FS2024 editable?
They can now do it. It's just a matter of encryption. How can we learn from other airplanes or base content objects now that everything is streamed?

Live Weather / Historic Weather always connected to time set
Yes, and I agree that it's great that they listened to the community about historical weather. Perhaps I'm mistaking things, but under the new system if you're flying at ,say, 8 pm real time and switch the sim time to 1 pm you will get historical weather for 1pm - not actual live weather for 8pm. Personally, I fly this way all the time (I know many other that do, as well) and not having the option for live, current weather being depicted in the sim at whatever time I choose to fly, is a step backward and could easily be solved with a toggle. Maybe I'm misunderstanding things here?

Hotfix coming soon
The same people who analyzed the Alpha telemetry data, I'd bet.

Nope. All are encrypted Dev Support. 1 step forward - 3 back.......... Good to see you, hope you're doing well.

Live Weather / Historic Weather always connected to time set
But...that would simply make too much sense. Giving users the ability to customize their use of the sim, like we have had in almost every iteration of msfs/P3D, seems to be of low priority to Asobo (they know best) resulting in much deserved angst directed their way.

parallel42 MSFS2024 Testing update
Yeah, that's why imho maybe early access should have been given sooner to 3rd parties for bug reporting but, it is what it is, and I'm stoked for 2024. Almost every transition to a new sim version has had some major bumps - remember the FSX release? They had to bring in a new lead - Phil Taylor - for some major salvage work. At least the update cycle now is so consistent that if they prioritize correctly, things will hopefully fall into place much sooner.

Steam security vulnerability
Sorry for your woes - never has happened to me. So you're saying your email account was hacked too? How would "they" be able to access your Steam account otherwise? Personally, I never keep any funds in the account just for this very reason.
