A single SSD drive will saturate the 3GB/s buss so the only way to run more than one or RAID them is to use a professional controller card off the PCIe 8x port so they have the bandwidth they needThey are changing the standard again soon (6Gb/s) to accomodate SSDThe new Intel SSD is the only drive shown to overcome the issues they were having with the platform.. its not worth buying any of them yetWith the excpetion of access and I/O.. the Vrap still cleans their clocks but there is a lot to be said for reduced I/O and access. Right now its still not worth the price per gig and the lack of true controller to run multi units.. Vrap is still the better buy for now

As far as Anandtech

I did not say anything about that unit other than the Intel solution is the first one to overcome the issuesI was speaking directly to what has been and is on the market.. the Vrap is a better choice over those offerings

OCZ has already released a 2nd revision of their SSD

Hey Chuck, Well once I get enough knowledge on oc'ing Iwil chill everything and try to (safely) get the most out of it. I have been simming since the sub logic and atari days but have never really learned too much about the machines that make it all work. My dad used to tweak my pc for me but he passed last year so I'm on my own with it learning as I go. All you guys have been a great help and for that I am greatly appreciative!!! Now solid state drives? that is news to me. No moving parts must mean great read times eh?

will do Chuck thanks. I have a guy at a local pc shop in Vancouver that is willing to help me with the oc'ing and cooling issues this weekend so come monday I should have some numbers to post. And hopefully be able to provide some knowledge to others. I have a lottery ticket for tomorows draw so maaaaaaaaybe I can even get into one of those nice Vadim systems. that would sure change the whole experience. But at this point 5000 pounds (aprox 11000 canadian) is just a tiny bit out of reach! Stay tuned for my results and a full break down of my set up!
