VHHH in FS2k2 = ?

Featured Replies

I'm confused whether the VHHH HK airport in FS2k2 is kaitak or the new chak lap kok? Some says it's Kaitak, some says chak lap (well in FS2k2 it's writen as kaitak). So which one is really is the VHHH in FS2k2? But I think both can not co-exist since it use the same ICAO code VHHH?

It is the new one.Michael J.

The "live" airport included with FS2k2 is the new one, but the actual Kai Tak facility is still there but not in a functioning state. You can see it and even land on it, but there's no ILS, ATC or AI traffic. However, many (including me) have made use of new scenery and AFCAD files to "bring it back to life" with a fictional ICAO code of VHHK. It's been fun bringing it back and adding ai flights to it. I've created a voicepack add-on that is available from the Editvoicepack server to make FS2k2 ATC say "Kai Tak" when flying in and out of there. Do a search here in the forums for posts by "Dark Moment." He's got a great webpage linked in his sig banner that has lots of Hong Kong and Cathay Pacific stuff on it.KP
