repaints with GMAX

Featured Replies

Hey everyone, I'm new in the repainting scene, and I'm wondering if anyone knows how to make aircraft repaints using GMAX, since it's the only tool I have available right now; I don't have a photo-editing program (like photoshop for example)and I was browsing some repaint programs but they weren't really what I was expecting.Best regards,--Cirrusman

You can't repaint with GMAX. In GMAX all you can to is apply textures to the GMAX model. You need a paint program to create the textures.

If you want a free painting program I'd suggest either GIMP or Pixia.Google them.

Hey folks, thanks a lot for the info. I'll try those programs and see what happens ;-)--Cirrusman

If you have a Staples near where you live they've been selling Paint Shop Pro 9 for around $60. A pretty good deal considering everywhere else I looked it was up around $100. I tried a few freeware programs, but in the end was never happy with them.Good Luck,Robert

Isnt the new free version of Gimp ( I think its that one) modeled after PhotoShop? The menus and what not? I remember seeing a thing on Atak of the Show (G4TV) about a graphic program that, in it's latest version remodeld thier menus and what not to follow the Photoshop becuase PS is the Industry Standard nowThaought I would put that out thereThank youJason G.Im not a real Pilot, but I play one online!http://www.matrixlair.com/extra/main2.gifhttp://www.matrixlair.com
