October 21, 200619 yr I have repainted 2 planes now using the game screen as my view port but thats getting tiresum. What program other then FSRepaint can i use to view my work as i go? FSRepaint seams to only support 02, and 04 at the moment.
October 22, 200619 yr I'm pretty sure theres not really anything other than FSRepaint about.. I'll think we'll just have to sit it out and hope they update it :) ---------------------------------------------------------------------------
October 23, 200619 yr Commercial Member Just a thought, I haven't actually tried it with FSX aircraft, but I have successfully used the FSRepaint demo to view FS9 aircraft not actually installed in FS9. The key apparently, is that they need to be installed in a subfolder of another folder named "aircraft".It's on my list of things to try, haven't got around to it yet, but possibly a person could copy the aircraft's folder from the "Sim objects/planes" folder to a temporary folder named "aircraft" somewhere outside of the sim installation. Then type the path to the temporary folder into the FSRepaint options dialog where you normally specify the path to the FS9 or FS2002 installation. That would allow you to use FSRepaint as a viewer while you paint the aircraft, after which you could copy the texture folder back to the sim installation when finished.Again, I haven't tried this. With the new bump mapping, fresnel ramp, and shader features associated with the new FSX models, maybe FSRepaint is simply not compatible. Should be worth a try though.Jim
November 25, 200619 yr Hello JimI had the same idea, but no such luck. FS-Repaint in its present version refuses to load the default FSX aircraft (installed or not).BTW, FS-Repaint will, however, read in the aircraft supplied in the MyTraffic X package which have all been modified to make them fully FSX compatible.
