Russian planes

Featured Replies

Ok mate, I am patient for the docs ;)As it is, I now have enough to fly the plane well, apart from the Alt hold issue.Yes, that is the way I set the AP, as I say before, the only time its starts pitching wildly, is when you switch views, and when you enter a turn, other than that the Alt hold works ok.Looking forward to those docs ;)Dan.

Outstanding news! Whatever help is needed to get the Russian site going just yell! I just spent the entire weekend working on an AFCAD for the UUEE2003 scenery for ProjectAI, compiling and installing Russian AI traffic, and finding all the good freeware airport scenery (there is quite a bit of it). It is good to hear there are others like me floating around!

[Dan:]>Thats the thing with the alt hold, I get it nice and trimmed,>level flight, engage the alt hold, and its fine........for a>while.>>After about 5mins, its starts it pitch up and down. One more idea: do you have a force feedback joystick? What if you turn FF off or if you unplug joy from power. I experienced similar problems with my FF joy and in most cases I simply not using FF any more.If this helps, we can try checking the FF section of the aircraft.cfg and/or we can switch to the AN24 own joystick driver (see Joysitck Service Panel).Gabor

Hi,No, no FF joystick here, its interesting you mention using the AN-24 own joystick driver, as I did think it could be my stick. How do I implement the AN-24 joystick driver?Dan.

AN24-RV is coming its own joystick handler, i.e. it can replace the standard FS joystick handling. A similar, though more sophisticated joystick handler was developped for PT Tu-154 and that is described in details in the docs. The An24 joystick handler is not much documented.Press Shift-6 (I think) to invoke the Service Panel. There you can configure the axes (right column, left to the switch). And you can switch on the switch to use direct API calls. Not much doing here, but worth to try.Gabor

"1) There is a warning on the ground when more power than 80% is applied, I am sure there must be something I am missing pre-flight, but I dont know what it is" Probably the flaps are not in take off position - check the green light in upper right corner of gear position indicator (it must be off for take off)"2) When in alt hold mode on the AP, after a while the plane will pitch up and down fairly bad, the only way to stop it is to turn of the alt hold, is there anything that I can do to stop this happening"I higly reccomend You (I had the same problem and this solved it) to switch on the direct joystick control using API Windows function on the right side of the service panel (SHIFT+6) (SEE picture below). In this case it is necessary (at least on my PC with my joystick) TO DELETE JOYSTICK AXIS for elevator and ailerons in FS settings - controls - assignments - menu.Best regards Zbynekhttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/87454.jpg

Right, tried again last night, got rid of the warning. As for the Alt hold, still not working, still pitching wildly.I tried the AN-24 own joystick, but when I turn the switch on all the control surfaces "flutter"Dan.

I tried and you are right. If I add power but flaps are not (et least) 15 degrees, we get this warning on the gear position indicator.Did you by chance know the meaning of the remaining warnings on the same indicator? And what are the labels on the signal lamps? Could you read them?Gabor

HalloI'v done picture of gear position indicator and upper tablo.EXTEND GEAR) warning light is ON when You drop the throttle down below 35% UPRT and the gear is not extended yet.EXTEND FLAPS) warning light is ON when the throttle is above 80% UPRT and the flaps are not in take off position.NIGHT/DAY is for lights intensity (not simulated)(KREN LEVYJ VELIKYJ) too high left bank (above 30 degrees)(KREN PRAVYJ VELIKYJ) too high right bank (above 30 degrees)http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/88034.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/88035.jpg
