Half an hour out, will be landing in the dark. Good thing this airport has an ILS according to my flight planner ;)

Landed in pitch blackness.Almost had a controlled flight into terrain on final. Airport is in a depression which is of course invisible at night.Landing lights saved me, was able to level off just over the treetops :)http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/105171.jpg

Godspeed Mike.I'm on a 1200nm flight from Ceylon to Pakistan myself in a B314 (which for the Clipper isn't that long).At a groundspeed of at the moment 144 knots I think you'll be in Yap sooner than I make landfall in Pakistan.

Yup on Yap.ETA 2240zIs Avanti faster than B314? (Not if one relies uncritically on ILS...)M.

ETA 0240Z. Avanti's only about 3 times as fast but for that the Clipper has 3 times the range (and thus 9 times the endurance ;) ).
