Tricky landing at night with no navaids and terrain and poor vis. Not a pretty landing but down safely.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/105762.jpgA question on the two hour rule. The timing is from the "I have the baton" post to the "The baton is free @ IACO" post. I think this is correct. In the case where flying time is very close to the 2hr limit shouldn't one post the "baton free post ASAP, then do the screen shot stuff, then edit the "baton free" post adding the flight analysis screen shot. That is what I did on this leg because the timing was very tight.Jeff W

there's probably a few minutes grace time. After all from the moment you post to the moment you take off some time goes by.Also from the moment you land to the moment your post appears some time goes by (I've had problems posting even, where it took 10 minutes of trying to get into the site, even during this low traffic training session. Last year Avsim went down for a day during the heat of the race and we needed hours to find a new place to post which we eventually found).

Crossing over to Reykjavik. Avanti.Alex

Approx 30 minutes to landing.Alex

Ok. That bit! 1 hr 55 mins later, and the flight analysis only acounts for a fraction. Sorry. Doesn't count.Has anyone figured out this shortcoming?Alex

Second attempt to reach Iceland.

About 15 minutes out.

During last year's race, the forums seemed to go down for 15-30 minutes or so every night about 3:00am GMT-6.... Maybe we were overloading the webserver right while linux runs it's nightly maintenance at 4:02am (which would be gmt-5 I'm sure, so it coincides with the forum downtimes).... (assuming the servers run on linux operating systems..... :( )
