February 6, 200521 yr Sometimes VOX ATC drops off during an IFR flight. Is there some sort of "envelope" you have to stay insidein order for the program to continue to have you under air traffic control?Of course, if you disenable, then re-enable VOX ATC, ATC willusually come back as though nothing has happened. Thanks in advance,Slugger
February 6, 200521 yr VoxATC programs the ATC environment to the flight plan that the flight situation is saved with so it is expecting you to follow the routing you used for your flight plan. On a long flight you might go a distance without a radio call which, depending on the speed you are traveling, could take a while. If you are staying on your flightplan and not continuing to get radio calls you might want to repeat your last message. The text will turn blue in the prompter screen when the speech recognition has recognized your call number but that doesn't always mean that the message itself was understood. If the prompter is blank you can give your call sign and "say again." This should cause the last message to be repeated and give you a chance to respond. You can also set the options to give enroute traffic instructions so you get more interaction from ATC.Hope this helps.Zane Dr Zane Gard Sr Staff Reviewer AVSIM Private Pilot ASEL since 1986 IFR 2010 AOPA 00915027 American Mensa 100314888
