Does anyone know how to request a runway other than the active runway? Sometimes the active runway is too short for my aircraft. I have changed the wind direction to force the desired runway but this overrides my realtime weather.

Hi Bruce,At tower airports you can request the runway desired when you first contact ground, "request taxi to runway (inert desired runway here)" instead of saying "request taxi instructions." Version 4 and the version for FSX will allow for non-tower airport specified runways as well. When approaching for landing you need to use the options on the first time approach gives you landing instructions, so if you are told to turn to such and such heading, cleared for ILS runway ? you need to press the "0" (zero) key to bring up the options on the prompter and then select which approach and runway you desire press the appropriate number key and say it soon. If you wait too long you will get the dreaded "not available at this time" response.
