Using the demo version for FSX I've found I can really mess up what I'm saying, but the program responds as expected. Have I set something wrong or will the program really respond to incorrect voice input?

You don't have to say exactly what the prompter has on it. The program is looking for specific words though ie your registration number, location, repeat of com frequencies.
