  1. Today I created a flight to KLUK. However, LNM said there was an error in the runway assignments. Looking at the airport diagram, I see that runways 21R/3R are no longer on the diagram but still show up in LNM. After posting the above, I checked and found that the runway was closed on July 1, 2024.
  2. I'm planning to update my Win 7 to Win 10. A little worried since this computer runs FSX very well, but it seems wise, maybe, to update before Microsoft cuts off the free update. I believe they'll support Win 10 after they cease support for Win 7. My question is what should I backup before updating? I have FSX + Acceleration and only a few additional aircraft and scenery add-ons. Any advice is appreciated.
  3. When you use the V key to take a screen shot, where is the picture stored?
  4. I just looked and you've had 59 views but no suggestions. For some reason you have conflicting scenery but I'm sure you know that. Unfortunately, I have no idea how to fix it.
  5. I recently purchased the Carenado King Air C90B and have great difficulty getting it in trim and holding it stable. No matter what I try the plane is all over the sky. I use the CH products Eclipse Yoke and Pro Pedals and have played with the axis settings to try to improve my flying to no avail. Are there any settings I might change, perhaps in the cfg file, that will improve the stability of the aircraft until I can learn to fly it better?
  6. My problem is just the opposite. I can't get the plane to start moving. Throttle up then the plane jumps forward and i have to maintain a in a lot of throttle to keep it moving. I know this isn't realistic, since this plane should taxi with no throttle. I use the CH Eclipse yoke and Pro pedals. Suggestions?
  7. Want to thank both of you for your time. Unfortunately I've been unable to get either program to function with my setup.
  8. Thanks Bojern. I think that's going to work. Had downloade the other I found only to realize the FS9 version won't work with FSX. FShobby. I downloaded and installed the program; however, when I build the database of airports, nothing happens. It's like it can't find the FSX airport files. Any suggestions?
  9. Henry, thanks. Could only find the FS9 version but not the FSX version. Google could find references but the only place it found a program was in a bit torrent. I know nothing about torrent sites and am a little reluctant to go there and risk a virus or trojan. I'll continue to trim the old fashioned way.
  10. Henry, That's it. Can you tell me where to download? Thanks. Fshobby, That's the one, I'll download and try out. Thanks.
  11. At one time, on another computer, I had two utilities that i now can't find. One was a trim program that used the main control, stick or yoke, to center the vertical trim. The other pulled up a diagram of an FSX airport showing the parking spots. I've been unable to locate either. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
  12. Although not as active as many in the simulator or on your forum, it's a ritual with me to look at the site and the forum every morning. IOW the forum has become a part of my life. I'm certain it will continue. When you consider what you've done, know that you've started something special for many of us. Best wishes to you and your family in this fight. Prayers your way.
  13. I've been using Windows since 3.1. Bought my wife a new laptop for Christmas and it came, of course, with Windows 8.1. All I can say is if you've trained your users for years to use a program in a certain way, don't change it all at once. Win 8 is a terrible abomination and with my years of experience it's like a foreign language.Hard to use and hard to understand. I know this has nothing to do with the original post; just wanted to rant.
  14. I am curious if anyone has tried this: http://www.pilotedge.net/.
  15. What files do I copy to the external drive to back up FSX? I apologize for the double post.
  16. I would like to backup my installation of FSX. I know FSX spreads some files around the hard drive. What folders should I copy to the backup drive?
  17. Capt Speirs, Although some did not agree with Mr. Greenblatt, I was one of the ones who asked him to spec out the system I use now. He did an excellent job and I've never added or changed any settings. He was pretty specific on the choice of all components from the case, power supply, processor and motherboard. The motherboard is critical. Using an I7 processor with a $100 motherboard is probably not going to work well for FSX. His expertise was well worth the nominal amount he charged. I was sorry to hear of his passing.
  18. Like others, I have no solution for the OP's problem. However, throughout this discussion two important pieces of information are missing. Who built the computer (off- the-shelf or custom build) and what motherboard is being used. The fastest processor and graphics processor can't work to full potential unless the motherboard is capable of transferring the data at a sufficient speed. Find out what motherboard is used and then look up the reviews on that board to see the capabilities. Also, if an off-the-shelf system, post what it is so we can look up the capabilities. Motherboard reviews are available at tomshardware.com.
  19. Thanks to previous help on this forum, I downloaded and installed the Embraer 145 from www.rikoooo.com; however, the aircraft does not display a virtual cockpit. I then downloaded and installed the virtual cockpit files from poskyarchive.com and still don't have a cockpit. Can anyone help me get a virtual cockpit going for this aircraft?
  20. Thank you for your help. J.S. I couldn't figure out what files I needed for the Embraer 135 from http://poskyarchive.com/. Seemed like the available downloads didn't make any sense. Wound up following hamody's advice and downloaded a 145 from rikoooo.com. Possibly the 135 files on poskyarchive are not complete.
  21. I would like to download and install the Posky Embraer 135. I've never used an aircraft from posky and would like some help installing the files properly. I understand they do not provide an installer and you must download and install the elements individually. Beyond that, I'm lost. All help is appreciated.
  22. The company has changed hands (should have changed the name though) and the product is now based a pay-for-use database and the old product is gone. I see no obligation here to continue to provide free access to a different product when the promise was made by different owner(s). I'll probably feel differently if and when I have to reinstall. However, it makes me wonder what the new company bought. In most small-company transfers the most valuable asset is the customer database. Even though I don't feel they're obligated, It would be wise for the new owners to take care of the old customers. The BBB complaint will prove fruitless although we may get some satisfaction from the filing. Like most lifetime promises it depends on whose lifetime.
  23. I don't know if this would apply to you or not since I use CH controls. However, I have a file called standard.xml which holds the maximum and minimum settings for each control. I had an occasion when my throttle control wouldn't increase to full and found the maximum setting for the throttle control had been reduced. from 127 to a lower figure. Calibration wouldn't change the setting so I manually changed the setting to match the maximum setting of the other controls. For the CH Eclipse yoke the file entry looks like this: Axis> <AxName>ZAxis</AxName> <Index>2</Index> <AxEvent>AXIS_THROTTLE_SET</AxEvent> <AxScale>127</AxScale> <AxNull>1</AxNull> On my Win 7 computer this file is located in: C:\Users\YourName\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\FSX\Controls If your Saitek yoke has a similar setting this could be the problem.
