Auto-Coordination

Featured Replies

I just downloaded and purchased FS2Crew ATR edition. I have not yet used it, because I am reading the flow charts and it tells me I have to "turn off Auto-coordination".I looked in FS for this "auto-coordination". I can't find it anywhere. It might help for those that are not used to looking for such a setting to place WHERE to find this setting in the readme file. That said, anyone have a clue as to where in the FS menus to find this setting? I checked everywhere under "options" and it is nowhere to be found it seems. Also --I read in another spot here on the forum (though the thread did NOT state whre to find the setting) that this setting effects rudder pedals. If so, and I am using CH Flight Yoke and Pedals, will this effect my usage of these devices? Thanks. Looking forward to trying what i bought -- if I can even start it.

Hello Chris,Thank you for the purchase. The term "Auto-Coordination" I used in error in the manual; FS2004 calls it "Autorudder" in the Realism Settings menu. The term 'Auto-Coordination" if memory serves correct was used in the FS Series prior to FS2004. I guess MS changed the term and forgot to tell me.At any rate, with Auto-coordination/Auto-rudder disabled, your rudder will not move when the ailerons are displaced. The only reason it is suggested that Auto-coordination/Auto-rudder be disabled is because during the Before Takeoff checklist the FO will move the ailerons as per his control checks. Accordingly, if the ailerons are coupled to the rudder and you're moving forward you'll notice that the plane will jerk left and right.Hope that helps and welcome to the club,Bryan

Aaaaah. Okay!!! Great!!! That cleared it right up! I never use that anyway, as I have always relied on "where my feet take me" :-)I appreciate your quick reply :-) And many thanks for the welcome :-) I already have and love your 737 PMDG add-on. Looking ever so forward to future expansions :-)
