Bit of a pickle

Hi I wonder if you can help me, please. I need to uninstall and re-install FS9. It says the terrain.cfg file is corrupted or missing. I have tried the uninstall route via the FS disk 1, but it simply hangs in space, and I have to exit. So I go to Control Panel: Add/Remove programs: FS9, and when I ask it to uninstall FS9, it says it will uninstall FS2 Crew Upgrade 3!! I've no idea why it should say that. I haven't used FS2 Crew in the past 2 months. Do you think I should go ahead and let it uninstall FS2 Crew, and then see if it will then uninstall FS9?Any advice would be much appreciated. Many thanks in anticipation.Don Hunt

Hi BryanThanks for the prompt reply. Well, I asked Control Panel to delete FS2 Crew Upgrade, and it did so. It left FS9 still on the list of programs, so I tried the uninstall option from Disk 1, and blow me, it froze again. In My Computer, FS9 is all there, so do you think I could just select the FS9 main folder and click on Delete? I think the registry files would remain, but if I'm going to re-install FS9, will they get overwritten, and not be a problem?I'm sorry that this seems not now to be your department, but if you (or anyone else) are able to offer some guidance from your rich experience of the funny ways of computers and Windows, I would be very grateful.Don Hunt

Many thanks, Bryan. I got MS tech help to sort me out. They were very good. The only pain is re-installing all the add-ons! Never mind, we're getting there.Don Hunt
