August 29, 200520 yr When the FO disconnects the APU, the autothrottle stops working. Am I supposed to fly without autothrottle, or is there a workaround? As it is now i have to manually restart the APU everytime.thanx,Balooba
August 29, 200520 yr Commercial Member Hello Balooba,Please take a look at the Tutorial. You're not supposed to arm the autothrottle till you're close the runway. In fact, arming the autothrottle is what prompts the FO to start his before takeoff flow. Now, if you're doing a bleeds off takeoff where you're leaving the APU on, ensure that your Engine Generators are on-line. It sounds like they're not.Cheers,Bryan B. York FS2Crew Web Site / FS2Crew Facebook Page / FS2Crew Discord
August 29, 200520 yr Hello Bryan,I think I am doing as said in the tutorial, but there are two times when the APU shuts off. One time when the FO asks if I wan't the APU shut off (and I want them off), and one time after take off, at about 3000 ft (don't know if it's the FO's 'after take off's flow'). It seems like it shouldn't be that way as the Auto Throttle stops to work when the APU is shut off.Balooba
August 29, 200520 yr Commercial Member Hello Balooba,Are your engine generators on-line?You need to bring them on-line during your After Start flow. Please see the PMDG manuals for info on how this done.Basically you're switching the electrical power source from the APU to the engines. That's the only reason I can see why your auto-throttle is disarming.Hope that helps,Bryan B. August 29, 200520 yr Hello Bryan,Ok, that was the problem. In my After Start Flow, I clicked the APU Generators instead of the Engine Generators. It should work now I hope.thanx,Balooba
