What am I doing wrong???

Featured Replies

Gday everyone,When taking off and selecting ICAO B, VNAV departure, passing 400ft I push flaps, which calls for flaps and VNAV, but my FO never does this? Instead he retracts flaps and selects Heading. I know I must be doing something wrong, any ideas??? Brett

Hi Brett,Why are you pushing flaps button at 400 feet?I suggest trying it this way:On the Dep Brief Page:Select Flaps 5, ICAO B and "V" for the Automation mode. V stands for VNAV.You must click all three... if you miss one the FO won't know what to do and you'll confuse the poor bugger.During takeoff:Passing 400 AFE click the "HDG" button on the Takeoff Page. The FO will engage HDG mode on the MCP. If he doesn't do this, make sure you haven't changed your PMDG keyboard assignments for heading.Passing 1000 AFE, click the FLAPS button. FO should engage VNAV and select Flaps 1.Passing VM Flaps 1, click the FLAPS button again. FO should select Flaps 0.Again, double check your PMDG keyboard assignments... The FO uses them to interact with the plane. If you've changed the PMDG keyboard assignments (except for the ones listed in the FS2Crew Keyboard assignments manual) the FO won't be able to correctly interface with the autopilot, etc.Cheers,Bryan
