November 19, 200619 yr Hi all-I was looking for some online charts for some other parts of the world I'd like to explore... specifically, I was looking for Jamaica - I found some herehttp://maps.bpl.org/id/M8734/but when zoomed in, they're not too clear.And I'm also interested in Central and South America. Ideally, something like skyvector would be awesome.Any leads apprecitated!thxAndrew H e l p k e e p A V S I M f l y i n g
November 21, 200619 yr HiHave been using here SimCharts from www.Aeroplanner.com - few Worldwide maps available for not too bad price (was $50 for 50 maps). However recently read their Worldwide plans must be discontinued for licensing so don't know what will happen to the SimCharts also. Also very good freeware maps (enroute) from http://164.214.2.62/products/usfif/charts.cfm.For Vfr in the Carribbean have been using whetever I was able to read from Aeroplanner Simcharts Miami sectional and WAC's (however don't know how much longer it will be available):http://www.aeroplanner.com/images/sectionals/default_us.gif http://map.aeroplanner.com/images/wacindex_us.gifAlso I always try the many Vatsim regions occasionally.Hoping it might help a littleP.

I spent the money, got the European WAC charts, but to be honest, I'm not too pleased with the quality at the $50 price point. Many available are almost impossible to read, and are not a good replacement for good 'sectional' charts. I guess you can pay more and get higher res maps for download, but I don't think I'll spend any more money with them. Aw well, live and learn ;)Luckily I found a location to download all the low en route maps for Europe and the USA. And if you need USA sectional and terminal charts, they are available for free as well (as are the European terminals via Eurocontrol), but that isn't what the original poster was asking for.
