Has there been an 'official' announcement from OSS?

Recommended Posts

Just wondering if there has been an official announcement from OSS regarding their shutting up shop?I recall a thread a few weeks ago, in which they said they were preparing an official statement about it. Just wandering if I have missed it, or if anyone knows where it will appear? My interest stems mainly from the fact that I have their fantastic Shoreham scenery, and I am keen to know about how they will furnish us with a permanent key or whatever.Such a shame when talented developers don't feel they can carry on.I was dreaming of owning their Dornier, I wish I'd saved all the screenshots before they were taken off their site, just so I could admire it on the screen forever!Regards,Al.

We have not made one yet. We're still working on a few things.

What strikes me as odd about all this is that there were myriad posts on their forums (before they were 'purged') of various and sundry products being in a "95% finished" state (KMCI, KOAK, et. al.). They were in that state for months. Then, all of a sudden, poof! No products on the pretext of FSX being a headache for creating scenery.I don't understand this since there are many developers continuing to finish up and release scenery for FS9 (see the GAP Team's Hannover, or Budapest 2007) since they were already in a state of completion.Come on, Jeff... you'll get lots of people continuing to purchase FS9 scenery for a minimum of a year. If those products are so close to completion, complete them and make some money!

As I said in another thread here recently, our problem right now is NOT FS9 or FSX, it's our dev time.If we could get them done for either version we would.Let us try and work this out right now, give us some space, and we'll see what we can do.I don't want to tell you guys something that may not come true.
