April 18, 200719 yr Hello everyoneI request your help because I REALLY wanna fly around in my Cheyenne.Im at my wits end, I do not like crying about add-on planes I buy but this Digital Aviation Cheyenne (DAC) is doing my head in :(It is absolutely unflyable on my computer (specs below my sig). I have never encountered such an FPS-hogging plane in my flight-simming life. Every other plane I have stays 25 FPS (which is where I have the FPS-slider locked at)The DAC gives me 16 FPS from 2D cockpit and 8 FPS from the VC (with massive jerking). Total FS2004 PowerPoint Edition. After Googling I came across an 8-bit texture converter which I ran, the plane ended up looking a bit rubbish (no surprise) but the downer is that the FPS-hogging remains http://www.nextgenerationrecords.co.uk/boa...es/icon_eek.gifhttp://www.planet-smilies.de/kaos/CreamPuffKaos/pcrying.gifIf any of you with computers similar to my specs have got this thing running smoothly please tell me how you did it!!Thanks http://www.thesmilies.com/smilies/sad0064.gif
April 18, 200719 yr I was getting a solid 20 FPS in the VC and more than 30 in 2D on my previous rig which had lower specs than yours. P4 2.4, 1Gb RAM and a 7800 GS AGP.I would suspect something is bugging your system down.
April 19, 200719 yr Thanks for replying mate.-----------------------------------I would suspect something isbugging your system down.-----------------------------------Initially I wondered about that but then every other addon I have works super-smooth! For example the Captain Sim C130 with its hi-detail VC full of gauges, glass reflections *and* a virtual cargo area in the back runs smooth as silk!So do the other addon planes I have like the HS748, EDA Twotter etc with VCs.Im trying one last time this evening to fix this, if not I will uninstall...very reluctantly because its such a nice lookin' plane. Its just doesnt like me :(
April 20, 200719 yr Nev,Found this in the Cheyenne forum - if you own CLS a/c maybe it will help cause it's definitely not your system:"Today I bought the PSS 757, and to my discovery found it had a very similar stuttering problem to the Cheyenne. I found a post on the PSS forum stating that a particular module in the modules folder called "dsd_xml_tcas.dll" can cause FPS issues. Apparently its part of another add on (CLS I believe). I got rid of it and now the 757 and Cheyenne are running quite smoothly!"regards,Markhttp://www.dreamfleet2000.com/a320/custbanner2.jpgPC Power Silencer 470/3.2HT/2048mb/ATI X1950pro/SB Audigy Regards, Mark
April 21, 200719 yr Well I'll be.....Mark that worked like a CHARM. Thank you...thank you for posting that fix!!!!! :) :)
April 21, 200719 yr Quite welcome, glad it worked :) !Having finally fallen for prop ops I just went with the King Air myself, but the Cheyenne's lines and vc lighting were quite a draw - maybe I'll get it a little later too.regards,Markhttp://www.dreamfleet2000.com/a320/custbanner2.jpgPC Power Silencer 470/3.2HT/2048mb/ATI X1950pro/SB Audigy Regards, Mark
April 21, 200719 yr Yea I fell for props once I realised that despite all my Ultimate Terrain, FS Global/FS Genesis Mesh etc etc....its all looked the same from FL410 http://www.nextgenerationrecords.co.uk/boa...con_redface.gifWasnt really enjoying those addons so thought it was time to get down amongst the weeds.....tramping around through valleys in a Maule or thumping down the Cheyenne on a small country runway is a laugh http://www.clicksmilies.com/s1106/grinser/...-smiley-028.gifBTW which King Air did you get? :)
April 21, 200719 yr Helloooo :-eek earth to Nevin :-lol - that's like saying 'which 767 did you get' or 'which 744 did you get' - THE one and only Aeroworx Super King air B200! http://www.aeroworx.com/b200.htmlConcensus is it's a close race between the two, but both are fantastic in their own right :)regards,Markhttp://www.dreamfleet2000.com/a320/custbanner2.jpgPC Power Silencer 470/3.2HT/2048mb/ATI X1950pro/SB Audigy Regards, Mark
April 21, 200719 yr I have both and for whatever reason I prefer the Cheyenne, however, the King Air is probably a better add on. The Cheyenne is more fun to hand fly and land, plus it has plenty of realistic features to make it a high-end pay ware. The Cheyenne has more promise than the King Air because of the Trimble GPS, which can simulate a variety of the real world ops, unlike the King Air with a KLN copy of the default MS GPS. The problem is that the Cheyenne has a problem with CTD's (GPS-related), and I've never been able to get an answer as to whether it's going to be fixed/released.The King Air is a wonderful plane and looks amazing as well, but I find it difficult to land if I haven't flown it for a while. Shortly after I mastered the landings in the King Air, I purchased a new plane and my subsequent landings in the King Air have been less than stellar. - Chris Gigabyte Z790 Aorus Elite AX | Intel Core i9 13900KF | Gigabyte GeForce RTX 4090 24 GB | 64GB DDR5 SDRAM | Corsair H100i Elite 240mm Liquid Cooling | 1TB & 2TB Samsung Gen 4 SSD | 1000 Watt Gold PSU | Windows 11 Pro | Thrustmaster Boeing Yoke | Thrustmaster TCA Captain X Airbus | Asus ROG 38" 4k IPS Monitor (PG38UQ) Asus Maximus VII Hero motherboard | Intel i7 4790k CPU | MSI GTX 970 4 GB video card | Corsair DDR3 2133 32GB SDRAM | Corsair H50 water cooler | Samsung 850 EVO 250GB SSD (2) | EVGA 1000 watt PSU - Retired

The Cheyenne is a wonderful plane and I enjoy it so much. I just haven't been able to invest much time into learning the GPS for that reason. I plan on staying with FS9 for a long time and I know others are wanting a fix for this bug too. - Chris Gigabyte Z790 Aorus Elite AX | Intel Core i9 13900KF | Gigabyte GeForce RTX 4090 24 GB | 64GB DDR5 SDRAM | Corsair H100i Elite 240mm Liquid Cooling | 1TB & 2TB Samsung Gen 4 SSD | 1000 Watt Gold PSU | Windows 11 Pro | Thrustmaster Boeing Yoke | Thrustmaster TCA Captain X Airbus | Asus ROG 38" 4k IPS Monitor (PG38UQ) Asus Maximus VII Hero motherboard | Intel i7 4790k CPU | MSI GTX 970 4 GB video card | Corsair DDR3 2133 32GB SDRAM | Corsair H50 water cooler | Samsung 850 EVO 250GB SSD (2) | EVGA 1000 watt PSU - Retired

IIRC, she'll float and kinda tumble onto the runway, so you have to be very careful with the throttle and flare. It's hard to describe, but everyone who's flown it said it took them a while to get used to. Since purchasing the DA Cheyenne and a couple other planes, I've spent little time in the King Air. - Chris Gigabyte Z790 Aorus Elite AX | Intel Core i9 13900KF | Gigabyte GeForce RTX 4090 24 GB | 64GB DDR5 SDRAM | Corsair H100i Elite 240mm Liquid Cooling | 1TB & 2TB Samsung Gen 4 SSD | 1000 Watt Gold PSU | Windows 11 Pro | Thrustmaster Boeing Yoke | Thrustmaster TCA Captain X Airbus | Asus ROG 38" 4k IPS Monitor (PG38UQ) Asus Maximus VII Hero motherboard | Intel i7 4790k CPU | MSI GTX 970 4 GB video card | Corsair DDR3 2133 32GB SDRAM | Corsair H50 water cooler | Samsung 850 EVO 250GB SSD (2) | EVGA 1000 watt PSU - Retired
