August 18, 200718 yr Numerous threads on this one--I'd do a "search" in the forums.I have an old P3/800 "clunker" with a GeF 4200--I was hospitalized several years ago and my priorities changed--been gearing up towards buying a real plane an putting my FS H/W requirements on the back burner. But I was quite surprised the other day when I was able to slide by with full autogen and five microlight aircraft in the pattern and still churn out 17-18 fps. I think what most people find is there isn't necessarily a one to one relationship between a slider change and drop/gain in performance. Sometimes just a small bump upward for AI can drop performance to the ground in an area like Seattle. But in an area like Vancouver BC, the same setting may yield great results.Read as many threads as you can--if you wait for this one to populate with all the tricks you need to know, you might miss the one that gets the most out of your system.Regards,John
August 18, 200718 yr You shouldn't have any problems with FS9. My rig will produce 25fps in most circumstances with full ai, scenery and sliders to the right. FSX will be different but should should be able to do decent. MSFS Premium Deluxe Edition; Windows 11 Pro, I9-9900k; Asus Maximus XI Hero; Asus TUF RTX3080TI; 32GB G.Skill Ripjaw DDR4 3600; 2X Samsung 1TB 970EVO; NZXT Kraken X63; Seasonic Prime PX-1000, LG 48" C1 Series OLED, Honeycomb Yoke & TQ, CH Rudder Pedals, Logitech G13 Gamepad
August 18, 200718 yr I run with a Pent4 3.4 GHz machine (Dell XPS Generation 3) using at present the included ATI X800XT 256 MB card. With everything in FS9 at its highest setting, I get a nominal 30 FPS at KORD and KLAX, with custom scenery, tons of A.I., Bird's Eye View, etc...You will smoke FS9 with your new rig.Enjoy in health!P.S. Keep resident memory programs at a minimal if you can. This still won't kill your specs, but its just nice to have a memory-clean environment for FS9. :)Mitch
