August 28, 200718 yr I know this may seem a bit odd, but I don't like to have AI in my "select aircraft" menu from the create a flight screen. Any one know a quick fix to get rid of them? Thanks in advance.Eric
August 28, 200718 yr Hi,Edit the .air file and change flyable to non-flyable. There are .air editors out there, AirEd is one of them.Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-community-sigbanner.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/
August 28, 200718 yr EricWhat is needed is to edit the .air file and you can use any utility designed for this purpose.I use "FS Aircraft Typer.exe" but don't remember the original zip name or source.. but from one of the major sites Avsim or Flightsim no doubt. The author included his contact info but not his name which makes it more difficult to search for him. I like Aircraft Typer because you can select multiple AC and do them all together. Perhaps someone else will have the pertinent information at their fingertipsLoyd Hooked since FS4... now flying: FSX Acceleration on Win7/64, Core Duo E8400; GA-EP45-DS3R; GTX 460-768MB; 4G RAM; Freezer 7 Pro
August 28, 200718 yr Thanks for the quick responses guys. I did download AirEd but I can't locate the "flyable" or "non-flyable" option. Any ideas?Eric
August 28, 200718 yr Use AirEd.exe to edit the AIR file. The program will open with a table of information on the screen. Not far from the top you should find an entry #105: "Aircraft Type". For most aircraft the value is "0". If you want to hide the aircraft from the FS menu, change this to a "2".Save the file.Good luck. Graeme Butler
August 28, 200718 yr I use FS Aircraft Typer as well. IMHO, the safer and better option, look for "fsat10.zip" over at FlightSim.com. Mike...
