October 5, 200718 yr A couple of years ago, whenever I came within 50 miles of Orlando, I crashed to desktop. Everytime, not just occasionlly. I narrowed it down to a scenery of KORL Orlando exec by "Shez Ansari" I simply deleted the scenery and all was well with the world. Years have passed and I'm in the middle of rebuilding my FS9 on a new computer. Being old and forgetful, I installed this KORL again. Sho nuff, everytime I get within 50 to 60 miles of Orlando, into the Dumper I go. Being more experienced in the ways of FS9, I was curious to know what it was about this Very nice addon that was causing my problem. This time I was able to narrow it down to a file called KORL1_VTPH.bgl It's the smallest file of all in the scenery, less than 1KB, and doesn't seem to affect the appearance at all when removed. The only thing that seems out of place is a radar antenna and shack in the middle of a lake. Evidently the Author meant something with the VTPH extension, but I'm drawing a blank. Seeing how it was such a solid failure for me, I was wondering if anyone else experienced the problem. The addons I'm using are Freeflow Florida, Ultimate Terrain, and of course Jime Viles Afcad and ILS for KMCO. Bill, just wonderin!:-hmmm
October 5, 200718 yr Hi,VTP objects are things like ground polygons (land, lakes), roads, shorelines, and polygon/road exclusions. So I assume he changed the shape of the lake to accommodate the radar. It will do no harm to eliminate it (some programs did create VTP BGL files that crash FS - SceneGenX for one).Hope this helps,--Tom GibsonCal Classic Propliner Page: http://www.calclassic.comFreeflight Design Shop: http://www.freeflightdesign.comDrop by! ___x_x_(")_x_x___ Tom Gibson CalClassic Propliner Page
