Sound Environment

Featured Replies

Hello everyone! If I would like to enhance my overall airport experience with sounds - environment noise, trucks, cars, something that simulates airport environment, what would you suggest me to look at? I am not looking for Cockpit sounds, those would only be in the way when talking to live ATC on VATSIM, but rather external sounds. Wouldn't bother me much if muffled in the cabin, but I'd like to hear them while in external view...Whatcha got for me? :)

With the FlightDeck Sound Effects Panel (FDSFX) (filename FDSFXpnl.zip here in AVSIM library), the first two switches GATE AMBIENCE and AIRPORT AMBIENCE are designed just for that. You will however, probably need to find some additional sound effects files that would suit just what you are looking for. Just an idea

Intel i9-12900KF, Asus Prime Z690-A MB, 64GB DDR5 6000 RAM, (3) SK hynix M.2 SSD (2TB ea.), 16TB Seagate HDD, Gigabyte GeForce 5080 RTX, Corsair iCUE H70i AIO Liquid Cooler, UHD/Blu-ray Player/Burner (still have lots of CDs, DVDs!)  Windows 10, (hold off for now on Win11),  EVGA 1300W PSU
Netgear 1Gbps modem & router, (3) 27" 1440 wrap-around displays
Full array of Bravo, Saitek and GoFlight hardware for the cockpit. Varjo and HP VR headsets for mixed reality.

It's a good idea, though I would prefer something automatical.

Patrick:How does Flight Deck Companion compare to FS2Crew? I use the latter and think it's great. Is it that Flight Deck Companion will work in any aircraft and FS2Crew is designed for specific aircraft? Thanks.Smooth skies.Chuck B.

Chuck,I don't use FS2Crew so I cannot comment on it.FDC will work with any aircraft. It is just a matter of making a profile and checklists. There are a lot of profiles for FDC here on Avsim.hope this helps.http://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-beta-sigbanner.jpgPatrick/EBBR
