VOXATC and Voice Buddy partially working

Featured Replies

I have both Voxatc and Voice Buddy installed in FS9 using WinXP and payware FSUIPC. Both programs work individually without a problem. They are excellent addons. Here is the problem. When I try to run both simulatneously, one of them hangs up the channel. What I mean is that it sounds like one program is stepping on the other's voice. You know, like 2 people trying to reach ATC at the same time and you get the whine. Once this happens, it cannot be cleared unless voxatc is restarted. This usually happens early on in the flight, like at taxi time.I have seperate buttons for each program. I contacted both companies and both said the same thing ... "we have not tested it with the other program", which I find rather amazing.Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks.Arnie

I'd be really surprised if you get them to work properly together. Kind of a no brainer to figure that though. You say a word and two programs are trying to figure out what you want to do. No matter what you speak, they have to interpret whatever voice command comes through the computer. The solution? Spend around $60.00 and start building these.http://eecherrors.homestead.com/newpanel.jpgYou ARE trying to use voice commands to activate switches and commands within FS right? Once you invest in the USB adapter, you can make these type of panels for less than $15.00 average. This above was less than $10.00. No complicated wiring or interfaces. Plug in USB adapter and use the screw terminals.http://eecherrors.homestead.com/joyaxis.jpg Heres another built for less than $20.00.http://eecherrors.homestead.com/startpanel2.jpg

HelloThe OP made the point that he has assigned Push TO Talk keys for both programs, so in that case they are not both trying to act on the same voice input.

right , great.. Contact support for BOTH programs said they don't care. Basically. I doubt that WE will fix it OR its worth spending a whole heck of a lot of time on.My suggestion offered "any idea" as the OP requested. One can only bang their head against a wall for so long with FS, dont you think? Just trying to stop a concussion.. LOL

Thanks for the comments. I was kinda hoping someone had run across the problem, but I guess not. I'm not giving up yet. When I started it barely worked. Now I would say I'm at 80%. It's fun to try. What is that USB board you have pictured? Where does it come from? Might be something fun to play with. Thanks again.Arnie

Here you go mate..http://www.ultimarc.com/a-pac.htmlget the A-pac adapter, a few pushbuttons from radio shack, some plexi from Home Hepot and your printer. Drill some holes and push real buttons/switches..good luck,Rudy
