May 14, 200818 yr I was going to try the free trail of the Google mapping service for FS2004 and when I downloaded the trail of FS Earth it said that I must also have Google Earth to make the trail version (around (PANC) work. Does this mean that there are two differant programs that I must buy ?:1. FS Earth2. Google EarthPlease advise, thanks jerrycwo4
May 15, 200818 yr I have not tried what you are attempting to do but I do use Google Earth - the free version. It is currently Ver 4.3 if memory serves. It works well for my needs.
May 15, 200818 yr Yes, that's the idea behind FSEarth. You must have the freeware version of Google Earth installed and configured appropriately. If you use the latest version of FSE and follow the install and configure directions from the user manual exactly, it works remarkably well and is pretty flexible.I own it and although I don't leave it running all the time (older versions caused stutters on my system), I use it on long hauls to check my location and see what is near me at the time. It is very, very cool in that context, and I think it's definately worth the price. Smooth Skies! -- Chuck B.
