June 26, 200817 yr Is there any way to control which parking spots the USER aircraft is directed to? It seems, almost without fail, that no matter what airport I land at, ATC will direct me to a parking spot on the other side of the field, though there are spots available near to my landing spot. I know ATC directs you to the closer runway for takeoffs, but what about parking?Today, at KLAX, I was directed to the absolute farthest spot on the field from where I was. I landed on the south side, but was directed to spot A2 on the north side. 20 minutes taxi time!
June 27, 200817 yr No, but you don't have to listen to Ground and you can park anywhere you want and nothing bad will happen!Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-community-sigbanner.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/
June 27, 200817 yr Aircraft radius is the key - I think it sticks you in the lowest numbered spot that fits. I mostly just park where I please without contacting ground.regards,Mark Regards, Mark
