Intermittent Black Cloud and Ground Textures.

Featured Replies

HiThis may or may not be related to my recent graphics card upgrade to an Nvidia (OEM) 8800GTX but i've recently started to notice a strange effect where i get intermittent cloud formations turning totally black at the same time as the ground textures turning black - see screen shot. The effect lasts about two seconds before returning to normal and seems to occurs every 10-15secs.Interestingly, the clouds don't turn black immediately, but rather the black builds up then fades back out to normal over the spell of the two seconds.I'm guessing here but it's almost as if there's some sort of indecision going on between the drawing of daytime and/or night time cloud and ground textures ?The reason i stated above that it may or may not be related to my new graphics card is that it seems to only occur at certain time periods around dusk during fairly heavy clouds, hence, i may just not have had a previous flight during this scenario.Addons are ActiveSky 6.50, UT Europe, GE Pro and Flight Environment.Any help much appreciated.RegardsGaryhttp://img.photobucket.com/albums/v294/garydpoole/LEBL.jpg

Have you experimented with changing the "Rate at which weather changes" slider in the Settings / Weather dialogue?Might be worth a try. After you installed your new Graphic Card did you also check under Settings / Display / Hardware to be sure FS2004 is using that card? Many disable their FS9.cfg file after installing a new card so FS will build a bew FS9.cfg file which will recognize the new card.Hope these ideas are helpful.
