August 10, 200817 yr Hi guys,I'm doing quite a bit of flying around Japan in FS2004 at the moment and I'm looking to improve the visuals in the area. I have FS Global - Special Edition, Ground Environment Pro, Flight Environment and Active Sky, but (good as they are) I figure there must be some less generic options out there somewhere.I found this site...http://fs-x.world.coocan.jp/TKOfs9.htmhttp://fs-x.world.coocan.jp/OSKfs9.htmhttp://fs-x.world.coocan.jp/NGYfs9.htmhttp://fs-x.world.coocan.jp/KOBfs9.htm...which has what looks like some fantastic add-on scenery, but I haven't got the first clue how to install it. Any help with this would be massively appreciated. Also, if anyone can point me to any other recommended add-ons for Japan in FS2004, I'd be really interested. I did find this http://www.japanscenery.com/home_e.html but at $100 for just the Tokyo region, it seems WAY too steep. Thanks in advance for any help or suggestionsPizzi
August 10, 200817 yr This developer has some serious skills, so you should enjoy his work. Take each package and make a new folder under Addon Scenery, make a scenery folder and a texture folder. Copy the BGL files to the scenery folder, any other to the texture folder. You should end up like this;FS9Addon SceneryOsakasceneryFS9Addon Scenery|OsakatextureActivate within the Scenery Library of FS9 and enjoy. If you go snooping around his site you'll find links to many other sites, and even though they are in Japanese, a little work will reveal the Zip files for download. There's even some free mesh somewhere in all the links.
August 10, 200817 yr As a test I just downloaded TK2004PG.ZIP - the first item on your list.I unzipped it to a temporary folder and although there are no instructions, it appears it would install just like any other scenery enhancement. The folder named TK2004PG would be put in your Addon scenery folder (or wherever you keep sceneries) and activated in the Library as usual.Hope this helps.
August 10, 200817 yr Thanks a lot MeshMan and Opa - your help is massively appreciated. I'll give you suggestions a go and let you know how I get on.
