PSS A3xx Merge LOC/APP issue.

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone. I have merged the PSS A319/320 with the PA Airbus models and everything works fine....EXCEPT...sometimes, the LOC/APP won't work. It will work sometimes but not others. I know its not that the frequency isn't tuned in. I can visually see it on the PFD. It's just that it works sometimes and other times it doesn't. Anyone else run into this issue?Thanks,Danny-Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 Conroe 2.4GHz LGA 775 OC'ed to 2.9GHz-EVGA 122-CK-NF68-AR LGA 775 NVIDIA nForce 680i SLI ATX-Crucial Ballistix 2GB DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400)-EVGA 640-P2-N821-AR GeForce 8800GTS 640MB GDDR3 PCI Express x16-Western Digital Raptor WD1500ADFD 150GB 10,000 RPM Serial ATA150-Western Digital Caviar SE16 WD2500KS 250GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s-Thermaltake toughpower W0104RU ATX12V / EPS12V 650W-ZALMAN CNPS9500 LED 92mm 2 Ball Cooling Fan with Heatsink

are you in autotune mode or manual? issues with ILS/APP/LOC in autotune are well known. you must do manual for things to work.--

Well, thought that might be it. As I sometimes enter the req. into the RAD/NAV page manually so I decided to give it a try. I flew LAS-PHX just now and landed 7L I believe. 111.50, 78 CRS. Well, it picked up on the PFD/ND but the LOC/APP buttons would not work. As in INOP. I have no clue.Danny

I've had the PSS merged with the IFDG airbuses for a while now, and the merge works just fine. I've recently merged with the PA A318 and am testing that one. There are a few things you need to do for a successful merge with either type:1. Use the PSS aircraft.cfg file and replace the lights and contact points sections with those from the aircraft.cfg for the merged aircraft. Add the sections for wingfold and tailhook.2. Use the PSS air file.3. Always load over the default Cessna. If you like you can turn off the engine but never, never turn off the electrical or avionics switches! If you do, you will get exactly the symptoms you describe. If you want to load cold and dark use the PSS panel configurator. These techniques also work very well for the 757 and 777 panels.DJ

Well, the merge I am using is one I did based on the way I have seen others done. I am using the PSS .air file and the aircraft.cfg. I always change the lights, contact points, fuel, and weight and balance sections. What does changing the tailhook and wingfold sections do to the merge? I have never messed with those.Thanks,Danny-Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 Conroe 2.4GHz LGA 775 OC'ed to 2.9GHz-EVGA 122-CK-NF68-AR LGA 775 NVIDIA nForce 680i SLI ATX-Crucial Ballistix 2GB DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400)-EVGA 640-P2-N821-AR GeForce 8800GTS 640MB GDDR3 PCI Express x16-Western Digital Raptor WD1500ADFD 150GB 10,000 RPM Serial ATA150-Western Digital Caviar SE16 WD2500KS 250GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s-Thermaltake toughpower W0104RU ATX12V / EPS12V 650W-ZALMAN CNPS9500 LED 92mm 2 Ball Cooling Fan with Heatsink

Your choice, of course. The tailhook and wingfold need to be added to the PSS config file (unless you already have those sections) so that the PA right side exits and cargo doors will work.DJ
